Previous Lemmy post said it was an Israeli drone and Greta thunberg was on board. Then there was some debate over whether there was a drone or not.
For those of us who don’t want to go to Reddit, what is r/worldnews saying?
How does this person watch the video of a flaming object clearly falling from the sky and come to the conclusion that it started on the boat?

Sounds like the ghost kitchens that were popular during COVID. Iirc places like Applebee’s would create branding for a new business (cosmic wings in Applebee’s case) and just sell Applebee’s products via door dash under that new ‘exotic’ name.

In one video you can hear the buzz of a drone getting closer until explosion, in other you can see a flaming object falling straight down exactly like an incendiary device dropped from a drone. The only way could be more obvious is if the drone itself was on video.
Went a head and had a look. And I thought the cognitive dissonance on Instagram was bad.

In fact, the only front page article I see on that subreddit is of Tunisia denying that the flotilla was hit by a drone.
Israel is a misserable terrorist country, US is misserable terrorist harboring country. What a time to be alive.
Then everyone reacts, calling her dumb and racist and talking about how cool Tunis is, so when you search on tik tok for Tunis, you just get the drama about this instead of war crimes…

Not justifying this in any way. This is an atrocious act. But talking about this topic… I don’t know what to think.
If you actually want to reach Gaza, you don’t set sail from Spain, because it is going to take forever to get there.
Also, I’ve seen videos of them partying on their boats. That just looks weird, I don’t know. Not saying that they have to be sad and crying the whole journey, but partying feels wrong.

The partying? That’s just humans united by a common (and good) cause, bonding and letting off some steam before they go into a perilous situation.
It’s harder to hide the sinking of a boat than it is to hide arresting people.
And activists have more boats than trucks, due to protests against drilling, fishing, wars. And I guess there are protections in international waters that don’t exist when travelling through different sovereign nations.Good point regarding the partying!

I think they’re “partying” because Israel has machine gunned civilians in boats carrying aid. Israel considers it “self defense” to kill these people. They shot up a boat and killed 10 innocents and when the world got mad… they sent Turkey $20 million to fuck off.
It’s an efficiency equation for Israel. The tiniest thing can tip the scales and then you’re dead because it was a better play for Israel compared to letting these Freedom Flotillas intrude on their plans. You gotta party before some bomb with a cringey name like “David’s Scrote” turns you into spaghetti.
