If you ever wondered how to properly cut cheese (at least, the French way), here is a nice picture for you.
Look how they massacred my brie :(
I have to admit that’s a pretty uncommon approach. But I guess, the softer the cheese, the freer the cut ! That’s why the infamous cancoillotte is not on the picture ^^

I don’t get it. Is this supposed to be Loss?
No, its just the french way to cut cheese, that is you always cut it in a way where everyone gets the same amount of crust per cheese.
Egalité! 😁
A mon dieu! Qu’est que ce passe a droit? Cette un cauchemar.
Ça va, I’ve seen worse. The brie seems awkward but I get it, l’égalité brother 😎
Yep, can confirm. My partners side of the family (from NE & South France) does this…. Sometimes there’s a debate of preference when more people at the table.
What’s going on with the brie?
Other than the “rulo de cabra” type cheese which is hard to cut differently I’m pretty much cutting everything differently. Which is great. “The french way” is the least preferred way for me.
You can have my French’ seal of approval anyway, as long as you like our stinkiest camemberts ^^
