In the fediverse since 2017. I mostly talk sports. If something on the internet doesn’t spark joy, mute it.
Do not yell at me simply because I am in front of you and the people responsible for the problems are not. It is extremely unpleasant.

3·18 hours agoYou caught me, I didn’t need the recipe from a “knowing how to cook” standpoint, but I very much needed it from a “looking at a cute recipe” standpoint, and I appreciated the reminder that my kinda chaotic “tomatoes? spices?? simmering for many (???) minutes” marinara recipe is valid.

41·18 hours agoI was very excited they made a woso shaolin soccer until
The big novelty here is the gender switch, by now a familiar strategy for contemporary sequels and remakes. On paper, this was an interesting idea that could have allowed Chow, as director and writer (among, rather incredibly, about nine others), to explore issues of gender stereotypes and misogyny. Unsurprisingly, there is nothing of the sort in “Kung Fu Soccer”, which barely mocks boyfriends and their cowardly lies to women, but does not hesitate to make fun of the lack of femininity of some female football players – notably the Japanese goalkeeper, played by a male actor.

3·18 hours agoThis is perfect timing for me — I’m browsing while the marinara I’m making from some of the tomatoes from my garden simmers, so I’ll be following this recipe in a couple hours. Thanks!

13·3 days agoThe fediverse is my favorite social media. It does have fewer daily active users than many others, but I encounter more real people and fewer bots than many others. If there’s not as much stuff here as you were hoping, there’s a broader fediverse that we are connected with that may interest you, like pixelfed (like instagram) and loops (like TikTok) and mastodon (like twitter) that you can follow from piefed or mbin, while still having a similar ui to lemmy. Personably, I kind of like that I run out of posts to browse and have to go do something else.

1·3 days agoI mean, if you have a masto account, like on mastodon.social or lgbtqia.space or wherever, you can post from that account to any community on the threadiverse (lemmy, piefed, mbin) by mentioning it in your post. So, for instance, you could include at-nwsl-at-lemmy.world (using the @ character instead of at-) in a mastodon post, and the resulting post would remain on your mastodon timeline, even if I moderated it from my NWSL community. If you want to see examples, a lot of the serious fediverse knowers post like this to !fediverse@fedia.io

10·3 days agoI think you can get away with using the web crypto apis and storing the private key in indexeddb. If you want users to be able to change devices or recover after blowing away their client storage, allow the user to download their private key and save it to a password manager.

5·5 days agoI love a groat, I just prefer a buckwheat groat or a millet groat to an oat groat!
I mostly use whole grains.
I don’t know that I’ve tried a barley porridge but I’d get one before an oatmeal for sure.

21·5 days agoOats are the worst grain to make a porridge from. Rice, millet, buckwheat, maize, and wheat all make much better porridges.
(shoutout to redlemace whose post made me think of this)

Sure those people are dead but! I did get to hear the new Bad Bunny album 10 seconds earlier so it’s worth it when you really think about it
