Anybody know what the model number of this Walkman was?
Edit: it’s the WM-10. I’d not seen one before but it’s an attractive device.

I just thought about this but isn’t it kind of a piss off that we went from walkmans, which were both smaller and more reliable than discmans, and we all just accepted that?
My Walkman never skipped. The smaller shape made way more sense. I could record on it. Why the fuck did we even accept discmans.
CDs were just better. Sound quality, you could select a specific song without winding forward or backward, repeat, shuffle, you name it.
The disadvantages of skipping were eventually resolved. If you just wanted to go for a jog then a cassette player was still better.
reason 1: sony likes money
reason 2: music industry likes money
reason 3: cds were far cheaper than cassettes, and promising far more quality (which was true technically but discmans kinda not really great to get those quality benefits so its just marketing gimmick) (audiophiles will argue about this idc)
