That trash even requires you to enable secure boot. Get the fuck outta here with those ridonkulous requirements 😂
Apex runs on Linux. We used to play it, but then they blocked it actively because there were too many cheaters on the platform. I’m sure the cheater problem has been subsided now that it’s blocked /s
If they “allow it”, you can just play it again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What is something about how people view or use technology that needs to die?
4·19 days agoI’m at that point but between you and me, it’s pure laziness.
I don’t have VRR monitors and only occasionally dabbled in VR, to my experience without issues besides ALVR disconnecting from SteamVR sometimes. I picked up the VR set now that my system is beefed up and I still have the same issue sometimes, so I’m not chalking this up to my older Nvidia card or drivers.
I never use sleeping or hibernation, so can’t attest to that functionality.
Updates never broke random things for me with regards to the gpu. My install is 7 years old, so it’s been updated a lot.
Never had an issue with my Nvidia card. OBS can use the hardware encoder out of the box. Just a few weeks ago upgraded to a AMD card and had to set some “advanced” settings in OBS to do the same. Really happy overall, but after seeing this meme for years I expected rainbows and sunshine but was unpleasantly surprised in that regard.

I would like to throw Kiwi IRC into the mix, perhaps it would suffice for some people.

42·30 days agoYes, Mattermost. It’s very similar to Slack and Discord. I have hosted it for years for our organization.
There’s a web interface, and has an app available. Can have all sorts of integrations and bridges to other services.

Reddit is the new Facebook. Kids don’t think it’s cool so they avoid it. Got this first hand. It’s got a big userbase so it’ll take a while to topple, but they probably already know this and will squeeze everything out of it to the last drop.
It used to be a place I could turn to to get some real reviews, in sofar that it ruined google, and now I can’t trust any of Reddit’s content anymore because of things like the OP.

I couldn’t find any threads on the forum about this. I would like to know how/if Arch will handle this.
