what is the G8 meant to be. Countries on friendly terms with one another? Russia is inadmissable

is it meant to be the worlds leading economies? Russia is inadmissable. Russia is pondscum compared to China. and no one is barking about China being added to the G7/G8

The G7 is fast becoming Obsolete. too

Trump is beholden to his party and the American people but nobody is holding him to account and the well regulated mallitias are nowhere to be seen

The poorly-regulated militias are currently cheering all of this on.

The “militias” never were a thing. The closest to that are rightwinger klans, that probably are working on either support the coup or return the US to the old ways where the preferred dress code for non-whites was loin cloth and chains…

How have republicans gone from cold war paranoia about Russia, to electing someone who is mouth open and eagerly awaiting Putin seed.

I’m not saying all Americans are thick as pig shit, but clearly ignorance and poor education is doing wonders.

From a nation to be admired to one for the purpose of ridicule.

    Sad

Isn’t one of the criteriae of being a member of the G7 to have a well functioning economy?

the whole reason the G7 exists, is because Russia was expelled from its predecessor, the G8

There is no argument for readmitting Russia, because Russia is an economic pissant compared to China, The weaker members of the G7 like Italy and Canada still have larger economies than Russia, and there are other states who have a better argument for Russia’s old spot, like Australia or possibly India.

The G7/G8 was kind of like BRICS. it wasn’t a formal alliance, it was an amalgamation of friendly countries with leading economies. The G8 was Russia’s gateway to playing footsie with Western countries it shared zero common ground with. and only used it as a tool to try to loot and pillage. Russia is not a “Western” country, and it permanetley made that distinction in 2022.

        Good point…

But I see Muskovite more as the “attack dog” that Chump can send on his desired errands cause Muskovite can’t be impeached or otherwise held accountable.

If indicted, Chump will just pardon him. Free reign to upset the apple cart on Chump’s behalf.

I find it extremely dubious that Trump is the one running things.

For one thing, he can’t take calls from Putin without scrutiny where musk can.

For another, the dude’s lost his marbles.

yeah i guess, and i’m sorry for it. but there’s nothing i can do about it. i’m just sickened that everybody - whenever there’s any problem - jumps to concluding that it’s “russian” influence, or somehow else indirectly a consequence of russian influence. it keeps people from reflecting. i definitely do not encourage authoritarian regimes, but i hate that people don’t reflect and stubbornly repeat narratives that they are being fed by TV and other news. considering russia a country and talking isn’t “supporting”, it’s being diplomatic, and honestly, the world could use waay more of that. i don’t see how that’s a bad stance to have, maybe you educate me?

My goodness, your post history… all doom and gloom about how the world is ending and there will be no more progress…

      Except for this post.

      Weird.
