What are you talking about asking questions? It’s AI … it’s all we need to know

What are you talking about asking questions? It’s AI … it’s all we need to know
Lol … with coming climate change, we won’t need VFX … we’ll just tune into the local evening news in the future.
Everyone will get bored with make believe movies because real life will look so much more epically disastrous.
Leaps off a tall building
Lol … society is suffering from the same short comings and ignorance humanity has always dealt with.
Our made up kings and queens believe they own the world and are surprised when they don’t have full control over anything or anyone.
Swappable hard drives
I have a ThinkPad with easy access to the hard drive. It’s one screw, remove a small panel and slide out the hard drive, slide in a new hard drive and reinstall the panel and screw. It all takes about a minute.
I have a drive for my Linux setup and another for windows.
I gave up setting up dual boot setups because I’m not as skilled or capable and I’ve lost entire setups in the past due to updates and changes and it was constantly frustrating for me. So I figured that just swapping hard drives was the easiest for me. No configuration, no changes and neither OS can interfere with one another.
I use my Linux as my daily driver for everything and windows when I need something from windows. I only ever use windows maybe once a month or once every second month. I spend more time regularly updating windows than in actually using it.
Last week I asked a friend to pick up a back pack with my laptop in it because I forgot it.
I was happy he did the favor but when he dropped it off, the cord was hanging off, the laptop was hastily stuffed inside and he handed the open bag over like he was handing me a sack of potatoes.
Space Willem Dafoe?
Mining CEO: is there a cheaper way to deliver this mineral rich material to the surface of the earth?
Mining scientist: YES! We can redirect the asteroid towards the planet and make it land on the surface!
Mining CEO: how much will this cost?
Mining scientist: probably billions of lives.
Mining CEO: … No no … I mean how much money will this save us and how much money will we make?
I do agree that we are very inventive, capable and imaginative when it comes to solving great problems.
Unfortunately we are also capable of becoming very destructive, ignorant, selfish and absolutely brutal to one another especially under a lot of stress and anxiety.
My greatest fear in the coming decades is mass migration and entire populations of people moving to places where they won’t be welcome, and people in places where everyone is relocating to worried that it will engage endanger their survival. The biggest problems we’ll face won’t be environmental… they will be political and social.
There was a conversation I read a while ago that showed how a sailboat could travel a straight line over water from Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada, travel southeast and end up on the west coast of British Columbia.
Basically sailing from the east coast of Canada to the west coast of Canada in a straight line.
And cause uncontrollable diarrhea
For a guy fighting against terminal cancer with no hope of help, he sure was quick to use euthanasia on someone that could have had lots of options in treatment.
Hagia Sophia Grand Mosque in Istanbul.
Built in 537 by the late Romans and still standing even though it’s in a relatively active earthquake zone, it’s amazing it’s been around for 1500 years without collapsing. The central dome is so huge and so high, it’s amazing to think how they built it back then without modern machinery or technology.
We don’t need a higher birth rate … we need a better quality of life for everyone.
Deniers are the people in the car who saw the sign and didn’t tell anyone
Scientists are the people in the car who told everyone about the sign they saw 30 minutes ago but everyone ignored them and didn’t believe them.
We can’t see or judge the tipping point anymore because we already passed it.
It’s like looking for that highway road sign without realizing you drove past it half an hour ago.
Emphasis on … OPENLY
There’s still plenty of individuals out there who choose to keep their sexuality, identity and preferences to themselves, either for personal, social, societal, political, or religious reasons.
As a Canadian this kind of meme doesn’t really work any more because most of our grandfathers refer to their grandfathers who fought in any war.
Anyone under the age of 50
Why? Because they will have the energy, experience and ability to take on such an important position.
Not only is it stupid for exaggeration but for also glossing over the idea that it’s logical, sensible or moral for any person to own so much wealth that they would never be able to enjoy even just 1% of that during a single lifetime.
It’s completely absurd also from the thought that as one person owns enough wealth to pay for the lives of millions of people … millions of people are living in complete poverty and starvation.
We look through ancient history and laugh at the thought of our ancestors who worshipped kings, queens, god men, emperors and all powerful leaders … we’re still doing the same thing.
These thoughts don’t just reflect on people like Musk but on all of us for thinking and accepting that this is all normal behavior for what we all like to think is a modern sophisticated society.
