  • Not only is it stupid for exaggeration but for also glossing over the idea that it’s logical, sensible or moral for any person to own so much wealth that they would never be able to enjoy even just 1% of that during a single lifetime.

It’s completely absurd also from the thought that as one person owns enough wealth to pay for the lives of millions of people … millions of people are living in complete poverty and starvation.

We look through ancient history and laugh at the thought of our ancestors who worshipped kings, queens, god men, emperors and all powerful leaders … we’re still doing the same thing.

These thoughts don’t just reflect on people like Musk but on all of us for thinking and accepting that this is all normal behavior for what we all like to think is a modern sophisticated society.

  • Swappable hard drives

I have a ThinkPad with easy access to the hard drive. It’s one screw, remove a small panel and slide out the hard drive, slide in a new hard drive and reinstall the panel and screw. It all takes about a minute.

I have a drive for my Linux setup and another for windows.

I gave up setting up dual boot setups because I’m not as skilled or capable and I’ve lost entire setups in the past due to updates and changes and it was constantly frustrating for me. So I figured that just swapping hard drives was the easiest for me. No configuration, no changes and neither OS can interfere with one another.

I use my Linux as my daily driver for everything and windows when I need something from windows. I only ever use windows maybe once a month or once every second month. I spend more time regularly updating windows than in actually using it.

Last week I asked a friend to pick up a back pack with my laptop in it because I forgot it.

I was happy he did the favor but when he dropped it off, the cord was hanging off, the laptop was hastily stuffed inside and he handed the open bag over like he was handing me a sack of potatoes.

There was a conversation I read a while ago that showed how a sailboat could travel a straight line over water from Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada, travel southeast and end up on the west coast of British Columbia.

Basically sailing from the east coast of Canada to the west coast of Canada in a straight line.
