protects students from being compelled to salute the American flag or say the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools.
Students are not being compelled to salute or say the pledge, only stand and be quiet. Teachers are the ones compelled to recite the pledge every day.
It is a law in my state that all students must stand and all teachers must recite. Most of the students recite too, but no one but teachers are forced to.
Yeah, we don’t need a song about war to remind us how we got here, we need a song about togetherness to remind us how we should be.
Can we make a pledge to be a good and productive person?
I guess this is that sign for me to talk to someone who would know if something happened to me and get it officially confirmed. I’ve been going over and over whether I should, but this solidifies it.
It’s like I don’t realize how inefficient my Pikmin usage is until I fail those Dandori tasks! 😫
Pikmin 4 - DAMN DADORI TASKS!!
Camp Pining Hearts from Steven Universe. Does Fiona and Cake from Adventure Time count?
It was probably the frequency. There was a point in time that I was making a bunch of comedic GameFAQs alts, and I probably did too many emails too fast. I didn’t think there would be consequences! Lol
I was in middle school when I got an n64 for Christmas.
For me, gmail beta in college. Also my first gmail account got banned for sending myself too many invites to make more accounts… to make GameFAQs accounts. >___>
There are some leftists on .world, but they usually leave in favor of leftist instances from what I have personally seen.
Fair, that’s what I did.
Honestly .world should have just blocked the most common shiposting Hexbear comms like chapotraphouse and dunk_tank as these are what most users found annoying. And I believe ther are more leftists on .world than one might think. There’s a great games comm on Hexbear too, and downvote away on the leftist game posts - Hexbear doesn’t have downvotes anyway!
I definitely had to have a chat with my SO about letting me vent without problem solving. I still have to remind them from time to time. Some people are just solution-minded like that.
This is called Social Emotional Learning and is a big thing in the school I teach in, but has big pushback from many conservatives because it talks about respecting people for their differences, even if they are gay or trans or a poc.
I heard some stuff that was worse happened after I left (girl brought a knife in her bra, someone turned on the gas in the chem lab) but during my time was the Ketchup Incident.
I guess the lunch monitors felt that students were taking too much Ketchup at lunch and “wasting” it, so they started monitoring it - two pumps, no more. Well, the guy I had a crush on (funny cool rebel type, in a band, all that) decided to bring Ketchup to school to share. He got in school suspension for some amount of time, and there were kids caring signs, and I remember a few times chanting, “Free (guy’s name)”. He became a folk hero of the oppressed student. They eventually reinstated full Ketchup privileges, and it was all because of him. At least, that’s how I remember it.
A few years later, dumb ass senior boys glued the sports trophies to the floor of the gym and got in huge trouble.
The schools I know have specific rules of conduct that says anyone who works at the school can not have a relationship with a student, and also for two years after the student has graduated or left the school. And that’s apart from age of consent.
