Is it too much of a conspiracy theory to think: what if the King’s secret service killed Jeffery’s fiancee and faked her suicide after her attempt on the prince’s life?
I was pleasantly surprised at how good the dancing animation was! … given the animation budget has been a little tight. :P The cut to flashback as Jeffery’s carriage enters a tunnel, and then cutting back out on the wheels/gloves, is tasteful and subtle–I like it. The flashback itself hit harder than I expected; it got me properly emotionally invested :(
I wonder what time period the bustles would place this in? I’d be interested to know if the setting has been period-accurate or more of a mishmash of vibes (not that that would take away from the story; just curious)

That stood out to me as well. The animation quality in and of itself was quite nice, and the choreography felt well thought out.
Apparently a tiny bit of the darker parts of the story are sneaking into the adaptation.
I was surprised at how gruesome some of that was, given how cozy the rest of the show is
I might post a bit more on the last episode’s thread, just in case they move some bits around in the anime and show them later, but the anime seems so far sanitized to move the needle further to the comfy/wholesome side.
