SYK, Apple has little telemetry because they don’t want 3rd party access. Instead, they keep all that data for themselves to build out massive user data profiles, then monetize it mostly anonymously. So while it’s “minimized” somehow, it’s not necessarily better. Apple is just better at not letting everyone get your data ASAP like google. But then again everything is hush hush so it’s hard to tell if they’re actually better.

Honestly, as a cheapskate, I’ve done this more than once. Only thing I can’t do is embroider lol, so lil vinyl patch works. Just print a bunch at the same time to save labels 😅

While we might have cheaper fuel, generally speaking, it’s still expensive in comparison when budgeting or expecting a certain price. I believe those in the US also drive further than many other countries due to commuting and often lack of public transportation in metropolitan areas (though that’s improving too). I drive ~25 miles round trip now which is better than my old 35 miles 1-way before. I interviewed for a place on the other side of Chicago and that was 70 miles each way with a 95+minute commute (obviously I turned that down).

We’re also supposedly more self-sufficient with oil production so we shouldn’t feel the impacts of the war as much (fuck the “drill baby drill”).

Well if you’re being interviewed, or passing someone being interviewed, it’d be obvious with cameras and crew there. Those cameras aren’t discreet.

I’m on LineageOS, run full F-Droid, no Aurora store or anything. I have no “Play” apps outside of trying older discontinued “incompatible” (and likely no tracking) games.

I recently found “Universal Installer” on F-Droid, and it’ll tell you if the packages you install have any trackers or ads. Pretty handy.

I’ve used APK Pure for a good decade for of games that were pulled out “incompatible” with newer phones.

While you have a great solution for getting around Aurora store stuff leaking metadata, I just avoid anything google and download from a mirror site. I trust them over screwgle.
