If playing through VLC, why not use the built in normalizer? Or you can go the more painful route of re-encoding each file to a normalized audio, something I haven’t done since 2k, for use on other devices
Done with /s
Why so many pedantic idiots? Context lost?

Kubuntu is what I use to game/VR/stream, it also asks during install if you want non-free repo which will install your nvidia drivers then you can choose which version you use in the settings menu, I used official for VR as that was the recommendation.
My current rig is all AMD (for compatibility) my previous rig was ryzen and rtx 2070 super upgraded to 4070 ti super, works great for streaming and gaming, the gf had an intel with 4 numbers, my rig before my previous rig, and it worked as well under linux as win 10.
As others have suggested, get the ISO’s of several distros: Kubuntu/Ubuntu/Mint/Fedora/Cachy/etc and try them all before you blow your current setup away. My last system was my transition system, kept win 10 and installed a second drive for Kubuntu and used “bios” to chose when to boot it (duel boot on same drive will be problematic after a specific win update, you won’t know which until you do lol) then found replacement software that I needed to move over 100%.
Good luck

Got into work, Firefox updated, was met with 2 pages, first one was about the AI kill switch with a link to the AI stuff on a single page, second page is as always a blank start page

And here I am practising my smile in the mirror (like that golden retriever)

No u. Hehe I said to follow your advice not cramers
edit: took me til this morning with blurry eyes to see your name bigtyme properly

The absolute best stock adviser on tv, so long as you follow 13igtyme’s advice lol
p.s. NOT FINANCIAL ADVICE

I do :) still, poor guy :(

Poor Kevin Riley, if only his singing didn’t make our ears bleed
Also, before you switch, ensure your hardware is compatible with linux (make a live usb to test it out without touching your current setup, you will most likely need to turn off “Secure Boot”) and that you can find the software that you need to do what you do.

I moved my gf to Kubuntu, all she knows is double click starts her games, open konsole - press up arrow - hit enter to start the G13 kb and every so often click that round icon with the blue dot for updates whenever she feels like it (or something stops working). Oh yeah, kernel level anti-cheat is a dead stop under linux, if he plays any of them, he needs windows so far as I know.
I put flatpak as the default instead of snap (10 seconds), she is now as comfortable as she was under windows, I have also not needed to support her much (except for the stuff I forgot to setup). and for the love of god make sure you show your friend “TimeShift” can’t say enough how great that app is, you can break almost anything tinker to your hearts content and recover in minutes

can’t trust em
I do VR on Kubuntu, unless flatpak has changed and can do that DRM thing correctly now because it couldn’t when I started, I got steam from the steam site, ensure you have compatibility on then ~80% - 90% of your library should just work. Lutris installed and ran EA/Sims3 fine, gf also plays official minecraft on her kubuntu. Any kernel anticheat is a no go on linux the ONLY use I see for cloud gaming is these games, but I really wish no one would show that this “service” is viable it will only hurt us in the end
My gf and I are on Kubuntu. The only CLI she needs is to start her G13 kb, otherwise she is GUI only, even when I set up her machine it was all through GUI. Myself, I do CLI stuff cause it is often easier for me, lsblk/lsusb/mount broken ntfs drives(Ok this one I need after the occasional reboot til I get a new media drive), but I don’t NEED to use it except for my G13 kb and the broken ntfs drive for now. ymmv.
If you haven’t yet, prolly have, check out /AFK on yt they make very funny star wars stuff in UE5, pay attention to the easter eggs ALL over their vids

Searches for a SATA cable, cries in multiple m.2
I was concerned about win 10 killing my linux boot loader on my old system, so I installed linux on another drive and would pick from boot menu which drive to load (for some reason my efi wouldn’t let me boot from the sata ssd automatically but windows had a drive in both m.2 slots, I have a new system and don’t worry bout windows messing me up as there is no windows on this machine

Oh, nice. thank you

But, but, but, I have an organic AI I need to train

Then that will make it easier, thank you
Sadly, not enough do, they prefer someone else be to blame, my gfs eldest daughter does do this with her son. Limited screen time, monitored PC in the family room with the screen visible. When she finally lets him run fully free online he will be mature enough to deal with the bs out there, we hope. If more parents did this the “Protect the Children” fallacy would be taken for what it is, surveillance, data mining, and control.
