This is certainly a take
As someone who used gradle then didn’t for a few years and looked back it, damn did they absolutely butcher the whole thing, not to mention now with the dual kotlin/groovy stuff the documentation is incomprehensible and achieving something that was easy as fuck in groovy like copying some files is a nightmare in kotlin.
The parallel builds seems to be almost entirely gone, de dependency management got an even weirder file format. I have no idea what they are doing
Ahh you are right, I did miss that, I would expect the sales of teslas slump regardless though, because the one screen setup is retarded and now there are viable alternatives.
As much as I hate elongated muskrat, this is Not a very good article, doesn’t really explore the reasons behind the fall and instead pushes a narrative.
AFAIK there is an overall decrease in EV sales, Tesla is also announcing the new Model Y soon which is probably having a hold off effect for new buyers, either looking for the newer model or a good deal on the older model.
And the viable alternatives from the competitors will also eat into their sales more than anything, Renault R5, new Fiat Panda, new Citroen EC3 that starts from like 20k.
Those who wanted a tesla likely already have one, the rest are taking the alternatives, that are either smaller or better built.
Tesla is going from the EV to get to a niche pick for people who like tech and fast acceleration over comfort, affordability.
not by accident, but certainly by luck, and then you can argue whether someone makes their own luck or not, musk hit the jackpot of being at the right moment at the right time and having the right skillset.
There are plenty of alternate universes out there where he became a nobody after paypal.
well he was ten hag’s signing and this is the first transfer window post ten hag and is being shipped out immediately.
plus he had an enormous transfer fee, so at the end of the summer he will still be worth like 30m euros on the books.
from the Athletic:

The move will be a straight loan transfer without an option to buy for the remainder of the 2024-25 season, with the Spanish club to cover 84 per cent of the forward’s wages plus potential bonuses depending on performances for the loan period. There is no up front loan fee.
The Brazil international, who currently earns £105,000 per week at United, will spend the second half of the season with Betis after featuring just 14 times for United this term.
I don’t exactly have that much of an issue of it being privatized as much as I have an issue with having them be for profit. Of course it’s all fickle with what you encourage with money, but I feel like the aim should be to encourage rehabilitation of the inmates, so psychological treatment, opportunity to study so they can become a productive part of society again, etc and the funding should be based on that, but that could also backfire in some ways.
Well they specifically didn’t for inmates
I have no idea if that second part is some sort of meme reference or what
I absolutely don’t do that, I have curated my lemmy home page to avoid politics as much as possible too, it’s mostly just people wallowing in misery complaining and not doing anything anyway, it’s a waste of time.
Lots of reddit communities are fascist communities
It’s branded as Bruno the dog, because the dog is the enemy of the postman.
Instead of taking out the lump sum, you can have it paid in installments, they probably asked for lump sum, thus they get a much lower value.
Then you can do the math of whether or not it’s worth it to receive monthly payment or taking out the lump sum, paying off all your debts, then putting it into S&P 500 and drawing down 4% a year and never run out of money.
At 400 million, that’s what, 16 million a year? Never have to work again a day in their life, can spend 365 days a week in a 5- star hotel at a 1000-2000 dollar a night a 250 thousand car every year and haven’t even spent 1/16 of his yearly liquidation.
Well China and India both have over a billion people, it would be weird if they didn’t eventually overtake a country with less than 1/3rd the population
What a hyperbole, you clearly haven’t seen horrible movies if you think BvS is one, especially the extended cut, you can disagree with it’s direction but it’s in no way a horrible movie, Suicide Squad is a horrible movie, Star Wars episode 9 is a horrible movie.
99% of Asylum stuff are horrible movies.
BvS is just a meh movie, but then for me, so is most of the MCU, watch one time, then forget about it.
Episode 9 and GoT season 8 (well season 5-8 in hindsight)makes me actively mad when thinking about them, those are horrible pieces of media
Well he wasn’t playing Lex he was playing Lex Luthor Jr.
There is spending money and utter waste of money, the hyperloop as a concept is fucking idiotic, it’s trains but worse in every conceivable way other than from the standpoint of one individual trying to get fast from one point to another, and much more expensive
murica, sensible regulations are socialism, please add 5 parking spaces for every 10 square feet of your store, thanks
Yeah, but the question isn’t whether you like beards, it’s whether you like growing your own beard, respect the game.
