Also just look how hard it is to find spots for renewables
Surely there will be no NIMBYs preventing atomic power plants and storage spaces for the used material from being built…

Isn’t it a huge problem that the president is blocking almost everything that’s even slightly progressive? Turning away now, right before they have a chance to actually change things if the presidential election goes well seems like a bad idea
This almost reads like a propaganda piece right out of Russia’s playbook in order to keep PiS in power…
The same one that also complained about free speech but literally kicks out journalists from the white house if they are not calling the gulf of Mexico the way he wants them to call it?
What do you think?
Meta also allegedly modified settings “so that the smallest amount of seeding possible could occur,”
And literally everyone else (besides the Left Party) is attacking him as their main opponent for that, despite the party being #4 in the polls at the moment and the Russian sleeper agents AfD+BSW are threatening to breach 1/3rd of the votes blocking any further changes of the constitution even if all democratic parties agree on it.
I really don’t get why the CDU chose to attack the greens over the AfD and how they can seriously consider the scheming FDP as a possible coalition-option…
The sad thing is that it works both ways. If a left party in government is improving things but had to do a compromise and therefore couldn’t go all the way the far left is also complaining about that.
Compromise with far right positions should never happen, but compromise in itself is not something bad, and imho it’s one of the main problems in today’s democracy that too many people see it that way.
As with almost all things: it’s good to have principles to stand by, but the world is rarely as black and white as it seems to be.
Yeah I’d argue it was the most precisely targeted attack possible on such a scale.
But of course - since it’s Israel people use every angle possible to criticise it.
Or a kgb agent in the hotel room next to someone that just fell out of the window
Stochastic terrorism is a real thing though - and hate speech against a minority is one of the possible ways fascism can take root in a society.
Germany learned this the hard way how easy it is to overtake a country that was previously one of the most liberal and modern societies. That’s why hate speech against minorities and holocaust denial are forbidden and harshly punished here - and that’s probably one of the reasons why other countries in Europe had their far-right surges in recent years quite a bit earlier since russia had to be more creative about dividing the population
I mean AMD heavily relies on Taiwan being independent to even be the company they are. If China takes over most people in power and all the shareholders are fucked - so in this instance it actually makes sense even from a company standpoint to do malicious compliance
Illegal immigration surging? The numbers are lower than any of the previous years? I’d consider thinking about which echo-chambers I’m part of in your place if that’s really the main issue you’re worried about right now…
And the conservatives attack them on every front because of how much they stir up things - it’s so sad how well that propaganda works…
Was in Bayreuth a couple of weeks ago - they had pictures of the city centre 40-50 years ago hanging there. Couldn’t find the exact image on the internet but here is a postcard from around that time. This is how it looks today (you can see the fountain and the house with the steep roof on both images)
And even if they don’t keep it: they got browser-level Adblock- and Tracking-Filters that you can just feed the same lists you’d put into uBlock
Sure it’s lacking the spot-blocking, tool if there’s a missed ad or a fine-tuned whitelisting but I think that browser will stay usable even if V3 is implemented.
Tbf - once the fediverse gets big enough it’s kind of open season for misinformation spreading groups. They can just join another server once the one they used got blocked. Worst case they get onto a server that actually gets used by normal people and produce a lot of casualties by getting the server defederated.
I think it’s a nice concept but for this type of misinformation it’s really not the best thing…
The German silver medal winner in long jumping couldn’t finish her last jump and got wheeled off in a wheelchair as she couldn’t breathe properly anymore as a result from a 2 month old COVID infection still reducing her lung volume.
Why give the heritage status first and hope they do a good job with the exhibition?
Japan is notorious for not admitting to their crimes in WW2 - the exhibit should’ve been first and then they could’ve the status - giving it on a promise is stupid
It’s the go-to strategy for fossil fuel companies to stay in the market as long as possible
They know it’s not possible, they don’t want to build new ones but the discussion alone is slowing down renewables and makes it less likely that the current fossil power plants can be shut down soon.
