  • Because by supporting China you are letting in a Trojan Horse. Chinese investors are parasites that will overflow the market with extremely cheap products, make the market dependent on them by estabilishing monopolies and then control the market.

All that made possible because the Chinese entrepreneurs sell all their products with significant loss, but they are generously funded by their government.

This is not even unfair trade, at this point this is a economical invasion. It has been going for quite some time with aliexpress, alibaba and temu. Now it’s happening in the automotive.

    Gauche caviar.

This is so ridiculous I don’t even know what to say. If you can live your life without having to use cars, then you’re extremely lucky. That is fucking rare, you know that?

Transport exclusion is a massive problem worldwide, majority of people on Earth needs cars to make do with core activities.

You have a choice to use cars or use public transport, and you choose public transport? Bless your heart, that is a good choice. But not everybody has that choice.

So, kindly, shut your gaudy mouth, please.

  • Oh come on, Lemmy. I know I’m on c/fuckcars; but seriously - $600 a month for a new car sounds really good to me, I’m from Eastern Europe.

It’s good because new cars are significantly more reliable, fuel efficient, safe and comfortable than 10+ year old cars. If you drive a lot and can’t afford to pay $15k up front for a decent ~6yo car, then it’s really not that bad. Much better than buying $600 rolling wreckage, I can tell you that much.

Yes people, I know you only use bikes and trains and whatnot. But some people neee cars, and you have to respect that. Or are you gonna tell this mother of 2, living in a village, working from office 20km from home, that she would be better off just sticking to the public transport which visits her place once every 2 hours.

I had a nasty habit to argue with subreddit mods after being banned for mild violations. Obviously that would only happen when the penalty had been inadequate, otherwise I would keep my mouth shut.

It happened two times, at first I was banned for a week on the whole platform. Second time, I was permanently banned from reddit.

Mind you, these two were the only occasions I was banned from reddit per se. I would naturally receive bans on various subreddit for reasons, but never from the entire website.

Funny how the most powerful people on reddit are also most fragile and best protected by the admins.
