datavoid@lemmy.mlto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Pros/cons to legalize marijuana in a countryEnglish1·5 days agoIn my experience, most people definitely don’t consume tobacco with marijuana. Some people smoke on the side, but mixing is quite uncommon in western Canada.
That being said, I am definitely highly addicted. I think anyone with chronic pain, trauma, or mental health disorders or probably at a higher risk. Not to mention the risk of psychosis for a very small portion of people.

Maybe this was a joke, but I’m unfortunately now required to ask whether you’re stupid.

datavoid@lemmy.mlto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•This happened to me at least 3 times.English52·10 days agoI don’t like windows, but I’ve been using various distros on and off for 15 years and it was absolutely never painless. Nvidia drivers still barely work for me (although admittedly they are shit on windows too). Making my computer wake from sleep is the stuff of nightmares. Integrated laptop webcam? No way in hell.
The only thing I give Linux a top score in is compatibility with my audio interface.
Intriguing… How well does debian work with an arm CPU?
Sadly Apple is the only company making good laptop hardware it seems. Just have to deal with a huge price tag and reduced compatibility!

Well if you put it that way 😂
datavoid@lemmy.mlto World News@lemmy.world•2 men charged with cutting down the beloved Sycamore Gap tree are going on trial in northern EnglandEnglish281·19 days agoA criminal prosecution for cutting down a tree is rare and the potential for any prison time for such an offense — not to mention that the maximum penalty for criminal damage is 10 years behind bars — is possibly unprecedented, said attorney Sarah Dodd who specializes in tree law.
Is tree law related to bird law?

Yes, I realize that. But even if I give 24gb of ram and 8-16 cores, in my experience VMs are still painfully slow. (That being said I generally only use them in a work setting, meaning not on Linux)
Isn’t vm performance terrible?
You need the power of GOP in your life
That certainly does sound frustrating - it came be quite bothersome when you can’t find the tea button!
