  • I see some of that rhetoric and I think it’s mostly the younger folks. The virility of youth combined with the challenges they are faced with leave everyone more on edge. There are other factors of course, lack of wisdom, Internet anonymity, etc

I don’t think violence is a useful tool when fighting against hate groups. It’s what they want. Then they have a claim that they are oppressed. You let them make the first move.

That being said, I’m ready to fight back against them at a moment’s notice and will use all means. I see the luxuries most of us enjoy (food, electricity, clean water) and hope it never comes to that for all our sake. Our just-in-time economy depends on stability and COVID showed us how easily it can all get fucked up. Out of control violence is one of those ways.

  • Hard no. I’ll move on like I did a year ago from Reddit, and I was on that site for 14 years.

Just from a political/nation-state viewpoint, it would needlessly expose information to make it easier for countries and political parties to keep some kind of “social score” and decide when to do something to you. China already does this kind of stuff.

We need to make it easier for everyone/anyone to do this? Think about all of the super-divisive issues at hand. People can already get a sense of your views from your responses, and that should be it.

  • I think AA’s issues are like most airlines: greed.

Their folks are friendly. I’ve never had a rep that I was pissed at, whether it was in the plane or at a counter. In fact, I’d say their folks go well above others I’ve ridden with (I’m looking at you Frontier).

I do, however, wish airlines didn’t think the median size if a person is 5’9" weighing in at a buck fifty. They stuff us on top of each other and make sure they maximize revenue by barely having enough planes to cover routes, so they’re always packed.

“Oh, but you can fly first class!” Nah, screw that. Give me a plane with no first class seats and enough leg room so I can move my legs a bit and we can all lean back just 2 more solid inches. The stress levels for everyone would magically improve, packed plane or not.

I know, I know, pipe dream.
