  • Votes should absolutely be public. They were on KBin, and it made people more civil for it because you could be shamed if you were dislike trolling or liking all of your own posts/comments to make them look better (which is something you actively have to do on here, unlike Reddit).

Given this place is pseudo-anonymous anyways, and people comment far more personal and identifiable info here anyways (which tbf you should be careful about), I think public votes would do much more good than harm.

Particularly for physical injuries, I sometimes prefer to suffer as it reminds me that I need to be careful, which I know I’d forget if I subdued the pain.

Having said that, for things like flu’s where it’s just pure suffering for nothing, I’ll suck down as many painkillers as I can have in a day.

At the time I got my current system, I did 1tb SSD for the main, and a 4tb HDD for data drive.

For my next system, I think I’ll split that a bit more evenly, as most of my games end up on the HDD which means they a bit to load

  • I agree on them being safe - when rules are properly adhered to, they’re extremely safe, similarly to air travel. People only suspect their safety because when they do fail, they tend to fail spectacularly, again similar to air travel.

Having said that, they may be efficient to operate, but they are by no means efficient to build. They cost a lot of resources, and have a 10 year lead time - plus you need to worry about the cost of waste storage and decommissioning.

So sure, nuclear is better than fossil fuels, but you’re just kicking the nonrenewable can down the road.

That time and resources would be far better spent on renewables, because that where humanity is gonna have to go long-term no matter how well any other alternatives work.

  • I’m in no position to tell you to stay or go, after all it’s your life to lead, nobody else’s…

Having said that, I can’t help but notice from taking a rather cursory glance at your post history that most of your posts are pretty well up-voted.

The only posts where you seem to be heavily down-voted are political posts, which by their very nature will invite disagreement - this is especially true when the posts you’re making touch upon rather controversial/inflammatory topics.

And if that’s what you’re complaining about being down-voted for, then you’ve really only yourself to blame for inviting that disagreement into your life.
