World News@lemmy.world•Iran déjà vu: Trump once again threatens massive escalation against Tehran only to walk backEnglish
12·8 days agoEverything is a Epstein distraction and market manipulation.
It’s boring, quite frankly.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•The AI Bubble survives on $1.65 Trillion in hidden debt
1·8 days agoLying? They’d never!
Yes, but:
A majority of people really doesn’t mind at all doing transactions with a person drenched in blood and having a weapon in their hands with the innards of other people on it.
Extreme example just to make the point clear. Oftentimes it’s like ‘uh I’m inconvenienced’ as reasoning for choosing parking where emergency services could no longer get through or buying a product or using a service that is not only a detriment to us all but also with literal blood on their hands for the ugly dirty route.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•The promise of quantum computing breaking the cryptography is a lie.
1·9 days agoI am also a sceptic if everything will turn out as currently expected but since I have absolutely no clue regarding quantum things (OK not none, but not nearly enough) I am really excited how everything will turn out.

1·9 days agoNow I am beginning to understand the layer you are talking about. It wasn’t clear to me so far.
But you seem intelligent, may I introduce you to the double empathy problem? It’s why you’ve (or possibly others) downvoted me, I just want to point out, since we didn’t understand each other right.
Communication is hard and maybe this will go a small bit in some random future communication.
I still define all this as ‘regular’ man made issues. And yes they’re true and really bad, and insanely, large groups are falling for it. But from a technological standpoint I do have a very different understanding of it (not better or worse, different). It’s not a threat evolved by AI. It’s just us.

2·10 days agoThe last sentence would’ve sufficed, thatwe can absolutely agree on.
It’s not that there will be ai nanobots rising from llm developing into that, though. Or bots. Or continually self replicating anything.

Fuck AI@lemmy.world•Sam Altman claimed we're already living through the singularity.
1·10 days agoAn llm can and will not have an own conscience or motivation or even possibility of acting of its own.
It can only act triggered and the rest looks like it would be so, but its only parroting.
Downvotes or not, it is factually missing parts to get there.
Its like saying the currently most advanced self driving car is possible to develop into knight riders kitt. It’s not biology. It needs the components to be able to.

And if there’s not a major thing added, it will not happen.
Not much anymore. Possibly related to Alexithymia.
Sometimes in a negative way if I forgot something important what I should’ve done.

22·11 days agoYeah, no scenario though where I’d see that coming out of llm. It’s way out of that capacity.
What we can achieve though is drying up land, creating famine and misery and the crash of society.

8·11 days agoAt least 35 years warning of these direct consequences, but indirectly from the beginning of the industrialization.
But don’t worry. Come the winter (let’s skip autumn again) we stop speaking about it again.
Yes of course. However, if all understand and do that, it’s impossible to go after all.
The law has to follow the habit. So education is key, equal right for everyone.
That’s the part many corrupt people have not understood. It all collapses at some point.
It’s easy. Don’t follow the rules.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Who was the MOST Trump like Roman Emperor/Consul?
10·19 days agoI get your post is likely humor but indeed it’s not that similar, crassus actually fought on the battlefield while Trump never did.

I read it around 20 years ago or so, I found it very visionary and very much more akin to our reality than 1984. Scary.
