  • I have not thought that I may be the only one to notice intentional human made instances of forgotten beauty, though it is an interesting idea. I do often think the beauty of certain aspects of nature is frequently overlooked, though… not your basic flowers or classically beautiful things, but the beauty of death and resilience and futility.

But captive axolotls are not really true axolotls, they are different from the near extinct wild ones (they have a bit of tiger salamander mixed in). And this really only holds true if people breed their wild-caught aquatic animals - otherwise you are just grabbing a living being from its home and putting it in a tiny cage. There is a place for wild caught fish, but it doesn’t seem very kind to remove them from their habitat to languish in an aquarium for a fraction of their normal lifespan, which is undoubtedly what happens a lot…

  • Interesting. Do you know if they would be masquerading as a woman to push their weird agenda, or just to troll? It is definitely interesting when people are crazy and talented like that, though in this case the talent is more interesting for sure… their grandstanding and transphobic takes aren’t really an original or unique brand of crazy, pretty basic. I would probably have to dig deeper to see the depths of the weirdness but my brain only has so much tolerance for consuming that kind of bs.

Kind of, but not really. 0F doesn’t mean anything special in relation to human interaction, it relates to the freezing point of some random salt and water mixture (not seawater). 32 is a random number for the freezing point of freshwater which humans do care about, and 212 is nonsense for boiling temp of water which humans also care about and routinely use. The only part pertinent is that 100 is close to, but higher than human body temperature, but not quite where it counts as a fever… just the temperature of a sub-feverish human… how is that helpful! Sorry I really don’t care for the Fahrenheit system and I’m prepared to die on this hill
