I’d also like to have the audio inputs back. I’m sick of charging this cheap overpriced Bluetooth crap.

OpenWRT released a router. Degoogled Fairphone 6 (with MicroG) with e/OS is available in US and uses Murena provider. DNS options with VPNs and domain filters would be cool. Jellyfin instead of Spotify could go under music. Scihub, Gutenberg, and Scidb under books.
This site looks good. Thank you for your contribution! Love it!

In had no idea. Sorry about your situation.

Also, you need employment and it’s really hard. Then there is no guarantee that you’ll be stable there either, since society is collapsing.

You need income. If you have a job in your country, you can’t take it with you unless it can be done remotely. I have looked into moving there. I still have not figured out if command terminals are in Portuguese if a person works as an IT admin somewhere.

Doesn’t that mean you hate life in general? Every second of every day is performative nonsense.

No, we can’t just move some place. Most countries require a substantial income or huge investment. Incomes require jobs, and countries require employers to make an attempt to hire citizens first. Most of us speak one language too, so even if we go to the shittiest countries, we’ll be vulnerable to scams.

Misleading title. Post makes it sound like all data is requires. Low effort.

Reminds me of my Samsung phones. I got a new battery for my Galaxy S5 and one for my S22. One from around 2015, and the other released in 2022. You can take the back cover off the S5s and replace the battery in a few seconds. By 2022 they disabled serviceability to the point that removing and replacing the back cover alone took an hour to do, just so people will buy another rather than use a heat gun and learn about proper adhesive removal and reapplication. They just made it a monumental pain in the ass so they could sell more phones.

Google is evil and hopeless. We all got bamboozled by the big G.
YouTube has been enshittified so badly it’s barely usable these days.

Privacy fatigue is real. It’s best to have a threat model before implementing countermeasures. I’m absolutely worn out from it, and I still might suck. Additionally, nextDNS, which is one if my privacy tools, seems to have almost forwarded to Googlehosted.com, which it blocked due to my rules, but still. How exhausting!
So how do you feel about e/OS ecosystem? I think I will delete MicroG, and then maybe do that for every update, but other than that it is pretty cool. I still might download Fdroid but too afraid to install more things yet.

Back then there wasn’t just three rich tech bro losers that owned the means of all the labor.

At this point there is no hope of us being well off enough to excessively consume, save, invest, and definitely not to grow money. The rich folks want a huge chunk of the population dead. Our future is slavery unless we overcome this, and most people I know are extremely unaware of the issues.

That and many jobs will be automated. The next five years will be brutal. The sudden rise of surveillance is one way they attempt to control the fallout as the current working units (us) are decommissioned.

That’s absolutely unfeasible and unacceptable. Everyone gets $30K a year over 18. It’s not like the money is not there. We have it. There are just too many parasitic billionaires hoarding it and billionaires should not exist.

I once pirated my own publication (I lost the original and it was behind paywall). This world is so fucked in every way.
Did you hear about the ad agency that pushed for the age verification in Australia? They posted gambling ads, and instead of banning the ads, the advertiser pushed for age controls so the issue with kids would be “resolved”. Or so I hear. Really, they are probably just trying to control the population and steal data.
