  • 100mg from one cup of coffee (in the style of a latte, cafe mocha, cappuccino etc.) on weekdays at work, on some weekdays a tea or coffee 50-100mg after lunch if I am feeling particularly tired. None regularly on the weekends, except for the odd time I meet people on the weekend at a cafe or something like that. …and I don’t drink colas.

I’m trying to keep it to a level that I don’t require it to function.

  • If it’s downvotes you’re concerned about, I think the fact is that bad scoring aren’t hidden by default like reddit which is why unpopular downvoted takes are more visible. People feel strongly here about their opinions but I wouldn’t worry too much about the amount of downvotes in general so long as it’s not because you’re an asshole or troll.

Social media bubbles are present everywhere, the way the Fediverse is set up I think leads to stronger but smaller echo chambers, which I don’t think is necessarily a bad thing because you choose what kind of group you want to be with and which other “bubbles” you will interact with based on how aligned your values are with other bubbles. You get the choice of what things you want to debate and discuss and what you don’t.

  • So, what happens when a lemmy server goes down ungracefully (so unlike lemm.ee that made a proper shutdown and closed most communities), the communities stay as a localized version on each server it had connected to, at least last I checked. You can post and will see posts from users on lemmy.world but no one on any other server can see your posts, because the community server was supposed to distribute them. So it becomes more like an archive.
