Version 2 came with Windows 7. Version 5 comes with Windows 10 (and I think 11). V7 is the latest but being cross-platform doesn’t come with some of the Windows-specific modules built into v5.

I know I’m a heretic but I’m a huge powershell fan. Once you work with an object-oriented shell you’ll wonder why you’ve dealt with parsing text for so long. Works great on Linux, MacOS and Windows, it’s open source, reads and writes csv, json and xml natively, native web and rest service support, built-in support for remote computing and parallel processing and extensive libraries for just about anything you can think of. It takes a little getting used to but it’s worth it.

I believe you’re misstating one thing if I remember the law last time I read it: It is a felony to knowingly sell a firearm to prohibited persons.

If you aren’t bound to the FFL requirements you are not obligated to ask if the person is in anyway prohibited from buying a firearm, and what you don’t know or ask keeps you free from jeopardy.

Oil and gas collapsed because of reduced demand from the pandemic and Putin refusing to cut production so he could tank US oil. Oil isnt likely to collapse again anytime soon.

I can’t fathom how a husband can know his wife has been raped but do nothing and say nothing about it. Did he sit and watch? How does he know it happened if not? Where was he when this happened? How did he justify not telling you? Why would he not report this crime? How has this rapist not been held accountable, by your husband at least? If I knew with certainty someone raped my wife the police would be involved immediately. If there were some details that meant we couldn’t get the authorities involved, I’d mete out some violent justice myself assuming the rapist isn’t going to report me since he doesnt want the authorities involved either.

It’s truer than most realize.

Decided to start lifting at age 47 because I was depressed with work, expecting to be laid off, and needed something positive in my life. A few months in I realize my back no longer hurts while sleeping. I’m not waking up in the morning aching. Here I thought I was hurting just because I was getting old when the reality was I was hurting because I was weak. I was dealing with back pain for several years unnecessarily.

I can do nothing and suffer, or I can suffer a little under the bar and feel great. Either way I suffer but the latter suffering is so much better.

Dude, most of us would stop working if we could, and those that would keep working would only be doing it because they enjoy it. Nobody’s getting tricked into working longer.

My dad was born in Eastern Kentucky in 1916 so grew up in the same era and region. He knew a guy that married a 12 year old and the guy confided in him that the first day he came home from work after getting married he found his wife playing with a doll. He felt bad, and of course he should have.

Even that marriage was considered bad back then, and this 9 year old of course is about as horrible as can be imagined.

It can be actually. People upstream of water sources - often wealthy people with land but sometimes a collective of local farmers - build dams or retaining ponds to save the water for themselves and on a significant scale can limit the amount of water that goes downstream.

Not everyone is the same. We aren’t all motivated by the same things, we weren’t all raised the same way, we weren’t all damaged by the same things and we don’t all think the same.

When you assume everyone thinks the same way as you, you’ll misjudge a lot of people.

I’ve never known a pit bull that wasn’t sweet but that doesn’t dismiss the fact that a breed that was bred for violence can be dangerous. Many dogs may bite when upset or feel threatened. Pit bulls are known for continuing the attack in a frenzy and thus have a disproportionate number of deaths associated with them.

I’m tempted… sounds delicious and I wonder why I’ve never seen pineapple and cheesecake combined. I wonder if the acidity is hard on the cheesecake.
