I rewatch The Hobbit trilogy and LOTR (both extended) every year with my wife. I would prefer just watching a fan cut of the hobbit as I don’t think those are very good, but my wife likes them and a happy wife is a happy life.
So I think I have seen LOTR at least 8 or 9 times and hobbit maybe 4 times.
That still doesn’t come close to a Swanlake cartoon movie that I obsessively watched 4 times a day when I was around 5 or 6. My parents insist I must have watched it well over 100 times.
The president or prime minister said that if China is serious about reclaiming Taiwan, it should also reclaim land that is currently Russian, as that land was also lost during the same time period.
Nightjet.com. It’s weird, for some destinations it works fine, but for others not at all, even though it states there are trains going
I wouldn’t mind travelling by night train, but every time I check I’m unable to buy tickets. Last trip my wife and I did we really tried doing it by train, but it was just impossible to order. Maybe I just don’t understand how to do it, but ordering a plane ticket is fast and easy. Ordering a long distance train ticket should have the same experience.
Edit: ok I checked again and looks like it’s possible now. Maybe they got their shit together in the meantime
That’s what they are aiming for in any case.
I’ve watched the first 3 episodes of season 2 with my wife, despite not liking season 1, but hey, it’s a Tolkien show so I will watch it regardless.
Half the time we were on our phones, reading articles or playing some game, because this show is slow and the dialogue is pretty pointless half the time. There are no characters we are really invested in. I guess Durin the younger comes closest, but man, the character building sucks in this show.
I will still watch it, because I’m a Tolkien nerd and I will watch it if only to bash it. I just wish there were fewer reasons to do so.
Reddit was just a crappy website that a 10 year old could string to
The first gout attack I had was the worst. I had been limping for two weeks thinking it would just go away, but it got steadily worse until it became unbearable and I went to the doctor. The diagnosis was almost instantaneous. She looked at my foot and went “Yep, gout”. It got worse for another couple of days until it slowly started ebbing away. I was basically a cripple for at least two weeks though.
I have it better under control now, but it still plays up sometimes. Gout sucks, but also there are worse things I suppose.
Man, I read those books ages ago. Tbh can’t remember much. Did that series get finished?
Depends a bit where you live, but my guess is on average € 45-50k, with whatever local benefits there are. Which translates to between 3 and 4k a month, depending on whether a 14th month is included. But this can be a lot higher or lower depending on the location.
He does a years worth of updates in like 3 or 4 weeks and then takes off for like 6 months. For me that’s acceptable. When he does get around to it, he pushes updates like the Flash on speed and fixes nearly all flagged issues in addition to adding new features that have been requested.
Ehm, the Germans got bombed into oblivion. It was quite effective.
And a Russian asset?
“Let me put it on for you”
I have 4 cats and I handle them all without getting scratched while trimming their nails. There is one cat that will bite the nail scissors, she is tricky to handle because of that. When she catches a finger between the nail scissors and her teeth, she bites full force and that does not make a pleasant experience. I tried burritoing her, but it’s just easier to have her on her back and using sleight of hand to distract her.
I know it as a book. I think I saw the movie once, but wasn’t impressed. The book is a very good introduction to philosophy.
Edit: I just realized that I was talking about “Sophie’s world”, not “Sophie’s choice” so ignore my comment.
Russia is a North Korean client state now.
I think the crisis moment for Ukraine has passed mostly. The threat of a breakthrough from a couple of months ago is not gone, but stalled long enough to shore up the defensive lines and have ammunition and supplies delivered from the west (and let’s be honest here, that is still for 90% coming from the US). The strategy for Ukraine should now be to hold line and hit the supply lines.
The sanctions that were implemented take time to really bite and you start seeing the results of these more and more.
One thing I think Ukraine should do is start recruiting mercenaries from Nepal and other places where Russia is recruiting. Since they’re not (or rather “probably would not”) be thrown in the meat grinder, I think that after some time they can dry up those sources too, while at the same time addresing some of their own manpower issues.
Stuff like this is why I have to tell our Chinese CFO why we don’t want Huawei network devices. Yes Jeff, I know they are cheap as shit, you cheapskate, but you don’t put the cheapest solution in place to run your critical systems on!
