  • As someone who’s only read the title, I don’t think I’d like this book.

I’ve made bread before, a lot actually. Many kinds with different flours.

But I’ve used yeast for years because I couldn’t have added phosphorus due to kidney failure (which baking powder has in it). I’ve also had other less commonly used raising agents like cream of tartar and yogurt. I also made it by hand because could not afford a bread machine or had the space for it. It’s extremely messy.

That said, if you’re using baking powder and a bread machine, you might as well just get bread from the store. You’re just doing the same as a factory does really. And I’m some cases maybe worse since some factory bread is made with yeast instead anyway.

If you want fresh bread, you can in most cases just go to a bakery section too these days, from what I remember when I lived in the USA. In EU basically every store has a bakery section with bread made daily tho.

  • Chickens always gave a lot of eggs. That’s why they were popular since ancient times. As long as they had surplus food, they start laying eggs. A dozen a year is just misinformation - that’s only in the wild, during spring because that’s when they have a surplus a food. If humans feed them every day, then they lay eggs because they always have extra food.

We raised free roaming wild chickens. The hens had a high up coop we’d close to keep safe from predators that they’d return to on their own at night.

  • Just want to point out, EU inflation rate from 2015 - 2024 is a 12% change, so out of the 3 examples listed only the EU has had stable prices. Technically housing prices went down in some EU countries based on this information, like Portugal. And EU inflation has gone down since the 2022 spike, which means there was a tiny housing bubble in 2022.

This only applies to housing prices of course - rent is a different story so being addressed in different ways across different EU members.

    Orange Pi 3b with dietpi.

I’ve had Big screen work before in Raspberry Pi 4 (even made a meme about back when I was tinkering around with different OS’s on it to see potential uses for my rpi), but Orange Pis are cheaper and the hardware is more open source, so I’m curious if I would get better responsiveness out of it. Plus the Orange Pi I have has 8gb too.

I like your Steam Big picture idea too.

Don’t know, have been thinking of making something easy to use for awhile for some of my family members anyway. But has to be really easy since they’re not the most tech literate (well may my mom and definitely dad. If he can use whatever I make, anyone can).
