There is the purpose a tool was meant for, and then there is the purpose people will actually use the tool for.

What immediately came to my mind was the phrase, “A key that opens a lot of locks is a good key, a lock that is opened by a lot of keys is a shitty lock.” And generally, that’s something you’re a lot more likely to bump into than rape, which is a much more uncomfortable to talk about for a lot of people and so it’s almost never going to be brought up. Combine that with some rape cases that get swept under the rug with phrases like, “boys will be boys,” “she was asking for it,” or even something as outright cruel as “it’s the only way she’d get laid anyways,” and yeah, where OP is coming from isn’t too hard to understand.

At some point years ago, I moved off Chrome and switched to Edge. I don’t remember why. I think it was because ublock would no longer work with Chrome. Or maybe it was Firefox I was on, and Chrome was throttling Youtube when accessed through Firefox, so I started using Edge and just swapped. Or maybe both. I don’t really recall. But Edge works perfectly fine for what I need it to do. With how heavy Google has tilted into advertising, data tracking, and enshitifying themselves, I low-key resent them and just won’t use Chrome unless I have to. Firefox with ublock for phone, Edge with ublock for PC.

Part of me wants to believe Diddlin Don wants to push this through ASAP so he can claim he did something “worthwhile” before he gets slammed with Epstein file controversy, but the cynic in me believes those files have already been fucked with and altered beyond actual use.

I’d like for Ukraine to reject this deal but we’ll see what Zelensky does, I guess.

It already came out quite some time ago that Trump had the FBI combing the docs for his name. I’ve no doubt whatever is released isn’t actually legit.

I promise you the lack of modern oven wouldn’t be the worst part. Making do with a wood-fire oven would be fine. It’s the proofing process that would be a pain in the ass. When raising bread, time, temperature, and humidity are all pretty much ingredients, and things can get finnicky. A proofer helps immensely with keeping bulk batches of bread a consistent quality day after day. The cooking bit is the easy part. But imagine just having a change of weather fuck with things and then you have to adjust the environment as best you can so the bread’ll rise right, and keep it stable for hours.

I baked as a living for 5 years, and I’m in the midwest USA, so I dealt with all 4 seasons varying. And on top of that a lot of the shop was glass windows, so you can bet the weather messed with things. Even with the proofer. So without, man, it’s annoying just to think about. Would probably have to seal a room up aside from a chimney, keep a fire going, and take a boiling pot of water off and on the fire to keep the air the right humidity.

Baking bread goes back pretty far. Think I’d rather just jump of a cliff, though.

I lost my internet for a couple of months a while back. That sucked. Since then I will track down stuff I like and save it if I can. I live alone, so not like anyone else is going to use my PC.

Or, you just wind up having no memory, and nothing to jog your memory, cause straight up, the human brain is not capable of holding onto it all. There is certainly something to be said for living in the moment, but to condemn picture taking entirely is dumb.

In keeping things in the spirit of petty problems, there has got to be a better way to remove hair than dragging a razor over ones skin or having the hair ripped out with wax. But I’m too dumb to realize the solution.
