World News@lemmy.world•Consuming fruit and a cup of coffee a day can halve risk of unhealthy cell ageing, study suggestsEnglish
17·13 days agoAs far as I can tell it’s not yet published. Why on earth would this be reported if it hasn’t made it through the publishing process? Lol
Here is a reaction to the findings that were presented at the conference mentioned in the op article.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What plants can take care of themselves and are eco friendly in nyc?
3·21 days agoPotted plants will need water and occasional fertilizer.
If I remember correctly, people from your server need to subscribe to the community for the posts to federate. I can’t remember if it’s just one subscriber or if more are needed. Sorry, that’s not super helpful >.<
I think you might have a federation issue, there are daily posts that I can see. Even one as recent as five hours ago

51·1 month agoThe article is confusing because it paints him as a “highly respected” ethical hunter and conservationist that hunts under culling licenses, but goes on to say the duiker he was hunting is rare and elusive. Wikipedia lists it as near threatened.
Man had a
hordehoard of animal trophies too, so it seems like he just found a loophole to killing and collecting animals in a ‘respectable’ wayEdit: pre-coffee typo :)

6·2 months agoShe believes in aliens too, but not in the sense of little green men. She claims that they are prophets from the old testament that time travel, she always mentioned that passage in Kings with a burning chariot in the sky when she was talking about aliens. She gave me a book about it once, I kind of wish I had held on to it for the laughs.

12·2 months agoI’ve mentioned this before, but my grandmother fully believes in Bigfoot, and claims there are sub-species of Sasquatch that she’s personally seen throughout the US. Debunking this movie won’t matter to her, I doubt she’d even consider for a moment that the footage is fake.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Question for those who didn't learn cursive

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Question for those who didn't learn cursive
15·2 months agoWhen I bought my first car, my dad (who owned the dealership lol) shredded the paperwork that I signed in cursive, and made me re-write in block letters. It’s the only car or other big-expense/important thing that I didn’t sign for with my usual signature.
My other confusing problem with that transaction was I wasn’t allowed to buy the kind of vehicle I wanted. Yes, I was already an adult living on my own by then, but I figured he knew best. (he did not)
