It’s still not working for me :(
Thanks. She was my whole world. Like… Crazy close, best friend. It’s been rough. I appreciate the sentiment.
That’s not far off for some of us. That’s about 25 bucks a month, and until about 2 years ago I was making just enough to have about 30 bucks left over at the end of the month that I didn’t spend on bills or food. Then I did fairly well for about 2 years, with about 200 bucks a month left over… Then my mom passed away 2 months ago, and since my job was being her caregiver, I’m now jobless. :/ life sucks
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•All this produce is going to spoil at the food bank where I volunteerEnglish20·22 days agoFacebook canning groups are a great idea, as someone else mentioned. Them little old ladies can do pretty amazing things on short notice. Can I suggest hitting up local churches? The methodists, Episcopal and baptists are all particularly fond of doing drives and such, and may be able to do an impromptu canning drive for y’all
Oh, well then I wouldn’t approach him for a whole new variety of reasons!
I mean, I wouldn’t, because he’s way out of my league, and probably straight, and most likely he’s busy right now, or waiting on someone, and the music in here is really loud, so he probably wouldn’t be able to hear me well enough to chat because I’m soft spoken…
Bryan is so my exact type
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto World News@lemmy.world•Russia offers political asylum to Elon Musk over Trump feudEnglish81·24 days ago“Elon has too much government information to go to Russia!”
Y’all, please, listen, Russia already has our government information. The important thing to note here is that whether Elon runs off to Moscow or not, Russia making the offer may well drive a wedge between Russia and Trump. That, in and of itself, is good news. Trump has very few political allies at this point, with most of the world turning against him and trusting the US less. If he is even further alienated, there’s a decent chance his party loses reelection or refuses to go along with his insane 3rd term plans. It’ll take us a long time to rebuild international goodwill, but alienating Trump is a good thing.
Happy to proven wrong is there’s an aspect I’m not considering here, but in my mind when the fascist fight each other it’s good for the rest of us. Makes them easier to tackle, especially if the nonfash (and specifically the left) can unify.
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Biodiversity@mander.xyz•Researchers Solve Mystery of The Sea Creature That Evolved Eyes All Over Its ShellEnglish9·1 year ago… Well. This is why you don’t open Lemmy at 3am. A hard lesson to learn. Especially at 3am.
I honestly used to love a traffic jam on the way to work. An extra hour I wasn’t at work, just chillin’ listening to my music, not being at fucking work. It was great. If traffic was completely stopped, like put it in park, turn off the ignition stopped, then it was Netflix on my phone time baby.
Traffic jams on the way home suuuucked though. At the time real time traffic info in my area was spotty at best, though. Almost impossible to use as an excuse now.
I am ashamed to admit I have never tried this, and just learned to throat the hard way. :/
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Opinions: What is a movie you genuinely like, that is rated below 60% on rotten tomatoes?1·1 year agoThe scene with the wounds on his hands, something like:
“does it hurt?”
“Not really”
Pours salt in wounds “Does it now?”
“No”
Breaks thermometer into the wounds “how about now?”
“A little”
“Aww! Poor baby!” Bandages wounds
That scene has played on a loop in the back of my brain for decades. It’s fucking hilarious. That and when the evil master reveals his name is Betty, and plays Big Butts. I loved that movie before I started smoking weed, and I loved it even more the first time I watched it stoned.
Dharma Curious@startrek.websiteto Memes@lemmy.ml•How often had I overlooked women's contributions ?153·1 year agoI just finished TLA. I’d never seen it, and now I have, and it’s gone, and my life feels empty. Why would you bring this up? Why would you hurt me so?
Korra is good, but it doesn’t hit the same, and 70 years is not enough to fully industrialize a society.
If you claim you have a religious for needing them back (reunification being pretty common, as in, you need them so you can be buried with them) then they will run their tests, and give them back to you if they’re not a hazard.
My brother used this to keep his gallbladder, and a friend of a friend kept her foot after diabetes took it. Both examples in Tennessee. I don’t know if it matters which state you’re in, but I’m positive the country would probably make a difference.
Plus, I think it’s funny the idea of some medical person somewhere trying to square their incredibly narrow view of religion with a trans woman being so devout in their own faith as to be concerned about burial practices potentially decades in the future, given the stereotype that everyone LGBTQ+ is an evil atheist.
I started using Linux in 2008. A friend of mine on an old forum showed me wubi and helped me get set up. When he went AWOL and stopped posting, I went on some Ubuntu forum and asked for help with a problem I was having (WiFi had stopped working randomly). Those people tore me apart and spit on my bloodied corpse. It was brutal. Apparently, I was a disgusting moron for using wubi instead of replacing windows (on my netbook with no disc drive) entirely. It was insane. I’ve since discovered that I’d just found a particularly toxic group by chance, and that most of the community is actually very kind. But at the time, it was genuinely hurtful. I not only stopped asking for help for a long time, I stopped learning about Linux and computers in general because I felt like it was something I’d never understand, I was clearly too stupid to get it.
This is bringing a tear to my eye. It’s fuckin beautiful
Oh this is amazing. What’s dough and ray, though?
I’m using a mobile app. I’ll log out and log back in, I reckon?
