  • You missed the (and doing it properly) part. Could you do it on his setup? sure. Could you do it on your setup recommendations? Sure. Could you do it on a little raspberry pi? Probably. A industry standard best practice for backup is 3-2-1. Do all companies follow industry best practices? Heavens no. Redundancy is great, it may save you from calling someone at triple rates for after hours support only to find your one 48 port switch failed. It’s all about what risk you are willing to take on any of this.

  • I’m not sure if I was clinically depressed or not. But I definitely went through a couple months where I wasn’t feeling myself. My GF moved in with me this year and I thought it was just me adjusting with a new “roommate”.

I eventually realized it was the house. It was a mess and that was what making me feel depressed because it was hard to talk to someone about being a slob if you loved them.

So I guess maybe think hard about things that have changed and when you were happy and see what you can do to change them?

I know it’s probably not great advice but it’s free and it worked for me

Not the 529,000 views that the video got? Was that satire or is there actually a channel that is that popular for candy crush and state of the game updates on it?

I don’t want to search for it and poison my recommendations for years to come

  • I live in the midwest and have seen plenty over the years to not trust my dogs training 100%. There was a dead cat a mile up the road from my house yesterday that got hit by a car.

Every once in awhile an owner decides to walk their dog from the dogpark entrance to their car without a leash and it runs off and gets hit. It’s not the dogs fault the owner is a dumbass

  • Sitting out on my deck listening to the frogs/nature at night. I still hear the bats when they are within 20ft. It isn’t loud but you hear them. They are a pleasant addition to the symphony that goes on at night.

Now… fuck pheasants at night they are loud and when you don’t know what the sound is its creepy

  • You also see this sort of thing about cops. I just learned ACAB, all cops are bastards, today. Which I’m getting increasingly tired of. When you try having a discussion with people they are just as stuck in their ways as the right and don’t realize it.

Do i think all cops are saints no. But demonizing entire jobs/professions/whatever right wrong or indifferent is the same reason i stopped watching some news. All doom and gloom.

  • I’m the same, i like the way my truck looks. Is it great these days? Nope it’s an old 08 with a little rust, ok a lot but hush, i love it anyway. Do i need a truck 97% of the time? Nope but that 3% of the time i do its amazing. And those people i pull out of random ditches in the winter will appreciate it I’m sure.

  • This is what gets me. I look into software for my company. Someone put up a open source alternative. I expressed my concerns with a small open source project and they acted like i murdered his first born. Well past the point of unprofessional and into the HR realm.

I’m not against open source by any means but there is a place for everything. This just was not the place for this specific product with only a handful of devs and no support. If a system goes down we need to have someone we can call.
