And properly calculated, I am sure. I doubt there’s a period in time where the ukranian population is less likely to vote in favor of Russian interests.

The only thing that worries me is a certain country who has a history of deliberately targetting civilians start literally aiming for the polls. Wouldn’t surprise me if they’re going to do everything they can to cause fear around it resulting in low turnout and thereby claiming the election was a sham.

Hopefully there’s proper infrastructure in place to allow for voting without queueing for ages.

Anyways, that’s a question for later: The Constitution has to be ammended first to allow for elections during war time.

Oh, uh, prior to this entire god damn shit show, he was primarily known for playing the piano with his penis on TV. It was like a signature bit.

I don’t have enough context to know if it’s funnier in ukranian, but I can’t imagine he’s had time to play it much recently.

That whole thing has blown my mind this entire time about how this is going to be covered in the history books. “So yeah, Jimmy Kimmel got elected to the presidency—yeah, the ‘girls jumping on trampolines’ guy, him—and then two years later, the country was invaded. …Oh, by who? Sorry, uh, it was…Satan, yeah.”

We’ve gone pretty deep into Anime plot territory at this point. The asymmetry of Zelenskyy leading a nation that Putin is invading, and then going on to hold his own for five years, is just astounding.

Imagine if some one held the US feet to the fire about promoting democracy and providing defensive coverage to polls. I mean Trump has no shame and neither do his cheer leaders, but do the people still want to feel pride?
