“again” implies that 30 apps being added is not the first time. It could be the second, third, or twenty-fifth time. It was not specified how many, but certainly there are a lot more than 31 apps on linux phones.

according to the site, 730 apps work with Linux phones. There are probably plenty more that are not on the site (like more niche programs or apps that are only half-optimized for mobile)

More than thirty in how long? Is this the second (or more) time? When was the last time? Why is thirty significant?

More than thirty in how long?

In a calendar quarter, (IE: 3 months) as denoted by ‘Q3’.

Is this the second (or more) time? When was the last time? Why is 30 significant?

It is the second, the last time was the previous quarter Q2/2025 Progress: Over 30 apps added, JSON API hence the ‘again’ in this title. The number of apps added is significant because it’s a blog tracking the number of app additions to flathub for Linux phones.

Thank you. Although some of this seems a bit arbitrary, you’ve now provided the context I needed to understand the title.

No problem, all I did was click the link to check, I’m not affiliated with the blog or flathub etc; so I might be wrong on how many times 30+ apps have been released in a quarter.

But as you say… Seems arbitrary to fixate on the number; the ‘again’ seems to be related to their blog posts, as it was a succession of 2 consecutive quarters with 30+ releases… I don’t think it was meant to be any deeper than ‘this title is practically the same as the last title’

My takeaway from the blog, is that the author is trying to convey an increase in development for Linux mobile apps, which with the recent side loading restriction nonsense from Google; wouldn’t be all that surprising. It will be interesting to see if the trend continues.

              Author here.

It’s just a report on what we managed to accomplish for LinuxPhoneApps.org, a project that

lists apps for Linux Phones like the PinePhone or Librem 5, that run Linux distributions which do not have a proper (de)centralized app store yet.

That an app was added does not necessary mean it is new or anything, just that it was added to LinuxPhoneApps.org’s app list. It may be years old (and may have worked on #LinuxMobile for a long, long time, but we just missed it before. And the again just refers to the previous quarter ;-)
