Good Question. Maybe a job for AI… or Michael Bay 💥 😆
lol, why did you end it with a blue screen? what will happen is, that all parts of the system, still in memory, will still kinda work and all opened files contents will be available until closed. so the system slowly glitches and becomes unusable. you may see a ton of errors or graphical glitches, depending on what you did. your launcher may become empty and you can’t start more apps. all non-builtin commands in your shell won’t work and you’ll get weird errors that your current dir and your home dir is missing.
For me it was Enlightenment DR16 (discontinued). you could make themes with shaped borders (transparent regions, buttons and titles anywhere, even overlapping into the window a bit), have it remember window positions, change border style for a window (e.g. drawer, so it can be collapsed sideways) and it would not steal focus. it had really good effects and features. I miss it a lot in Wayland. Check the web for some screenshots, if you want to be inspired.
For some reason my reddit app (Infinity) still works. I probably used an app for disabled people without knowing it, like the retard I am. No wonder it’s just usable with that app 🤪
Still, the reposts on there have tripled. It’s probably just bots talking with bots at this point.
yeah, leak all swapped data into their cloud * shiver *
the worst thing about windows is that you can’t natively change the window manager or desktop environment. that is so backwards. they even removed the ability to move the taskbar wherever you want. this is so weird.
linux is also about choice, so it doesn’t matter if something is bad for you. you can use a different alternative or even make/fork one.
do they get funding from hardware vendors? snaps use a lot more resources
