Colonel Panic@programming.devto Programming@programming.dev•It is my practice to delete the hash lines after question marks in URLS to defeat tracking... but the question mark has disappeared27·3 months agoit’s similar with amazon/booking - if you use their share button, you get a neater shortened url but tracking is baked in. but you can still just copy the url from the browser search bar instead (which, acknowledged, might particularly not work well for IG)

I’ve tried something similar - but usb sticks (i.e. flash memory) have limitations, when transferring larger amounts of data (images, video) it takes forever to write and it is no good experience. also the small form factor keys tend to overheat and become abysmally slow (esp. sandisk ultra fit are practically unusable).
maybe an old ssd in a $10 external case is a better option, even if it’s not as compact
