I’ve just joined a windows shop after developing in Linux for the last 15 years.
Nothing is predictable. UI prompts change my files. I get ads for Xbox in my development environment. Build assemblies/dependency chains are inscrutable.
Windows is fucking cancer.
will you please reLAX?!
TIL thank you!
Subtle. Nice.
Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by stupidity

We are all equally worthless at the DMV.
There is nothing surprising about a white South African promoting a racist political party. White South Africans are the most openly and unabashedly racist people on the planet.

Mate… dunno where to begin with you. I work in these places and I’m 100% for. You sound like you need to address an anxiety or anger problem.
Yep lived there! This was pre-2010, to be certain. Now there’s a safe injecting site, lockout laws, and other things that make the neighborhood less fun
I made a PHP-based one a while ago before Duolingo offered Swahili. It probably needs a little upgrading, ha. A cool project and you can do it for most things. Oh plus it’s raw PHP so snappy as heck you youngins. https://github.com/ryanchausse/githeri
This is how I contributed code to the NSA
OI! Where’s your nonexistent e-bike loicense?
Really the anime and chicks with dicks on this website. It’s enough to make one explode with sexual desire for a boy toy.
IMO, blockchain technology is good for one use case: illegal transactions.
I think all else can be achieved more efficiently by using a trusted third party write-only database, such as the ones available on AWS, and you’d also have the benefit of being able to go to court to seek relief. Some blockchain markets are basically reinventing banking systems and preexisting financial law - systems that have been built over centuries and have quite a bit of knowledge baked in.
I do like the shift to proof of stake from proof of work, but this tech is silly to me.
Why would it ever be remotely acceptable to look through your kid’s phone? One can hardly think of a more serious violation of privacy. Not just for the kid but for all the people the kid communicates with. It should not be socially acceptable to admit that you’ve done this.
If they’re causing problems, address them another way. Take the phone away if you need to, but do not turn your house into North Korea.
