World News@lemmy.world•A new search engine is helping Germans to discover if their ancestors were members of the Nazi PartyEnglish
2·1 day agoGenocide? It feels like you’re making a few leaps of logic there.
Either way, if they were a high ranking military commander in nazi Germany, they likely didn’t get there by being nice and virtuous. To place them in another centre of power seems a little odd, at the very least.

World News@lemmy.world•'If Gas Prices Rise, Then Let It Rise': Trump Says Rising Gas Prices Does Not Concern HimEnglish
4·3 days agoI do not live in the US, though I appreciate the suggestion :p
Part of me wonders if those who’d stick on the Bifen version would even realise the irony of the situation. Some of them are so far gone they’ll happily flipflop along with Trump’s mood dujour, all that matters is that it’s their “team” and that they’re “winning”.

10·11 days agoWhat’s even worse: those chatbots generally agree with the user. Deferring judgement like that sure is one way to do what you wanted to do anyway.
This brings me back to when i still scrolled 9gag and came across their comics semi-frequently. Their flagship series is “living with hipster girl and gamer girl”, and it’s about a boy with two chesty roommates. The women were always drawn like this.

World News@quokk.au•Zelenskyy arrives in Qatar as Gulf tour shapes new partnerships for Ukraine
2·12 days agoUkraine needs money to sustain their own war effort, and they happen to have a lot of experience with Iranian drones to offer.
I may not like it either, but I do understand the move.
On top of that, with the oil prices going up, the Ukrainian side isn’t the only one profiting off the Iranian conflict.

World News@lemmy.world•Democrats at Munich security summit to urge Europe to stand up to TrumpEnglish
2·2 months agoIdeally, yes. In practice, splitting their voter base in two would guarantee losing the presidency. The first past the post system of the US and UK needs to be reformed, not that their current major parties have any incentive to do so.
All of which is to say, it’s a difficult situation.

2·2 months agoYes, but also the party is not a monolith.
Nope, that doesn’t dismiss the ad because fuck you!
Not always, anyways. Luckily I’ve mostly managed to avoid such apps.

6·3 months agoSince Taiwan is “already part” of China, that would just be internal affairs too.

I was also reminded of eunuchs. Those were also seen as a “third gender” by some?
Not sure if it’s exactly NB, but their history goes back a long way.
