I don’t think any of the videos faithfully recreate what people heard, but in the ones I saw, there was a noise like an enormous airplane about to crash right on the site. A tremendous crescendoing whooshing scream. Everybody freaked out, ducked, and ran up against the buildings for cover. Many seemed to think some kind of vehicle was coming down the street toward them. It was insane.

In all this Ukraine conflict I have entirely overlooked the domestic PR impact on RC hobbyists. Thank you for your informative post.

These are obviously the desires of a man who cannot find and keep the loyalty of a mate just on his own merits. No, he needs the state to help him bag a wife.

I’ve heard it said that marriage was invented by men as a sort of peace agreement to guarantee one woman per man so that no men were totally shut out of sex. In earlier times, when wealthy or powerful men hoarded the women, this led to serious problems from those men on the losing end of the society (rape, terrorism, even war).

Hard to miss. Just 25 years experience developing websites and apps. Websites are thin clients. Every line of JS that executes in your browser is generated by more server side code, and that’s not even to speak of the middle tier and back end. So yeah. A majority of software is not on the client. Unless you’re doing it incredibly wrong.

EDIT: oh wait, are you counting the Windows OS, etc? I’m counting code controlled by YouTube which they would even be able to detect an error for.

Frankly the news media have been suspect from the very beginning. There’s never been a time when they were not biased or sensationalist. All we can do is read them critically, and not rely overly much on any single source.

After reading this article, I have to say that the headline/image are pretty misleading. He was talking about Kursk, the region of Russia that Ukraine invaded: he said it’s back under Russian control and the Ukraine forces there are surrounded. Then he said they have two options: surrender or die.

I’m not defending Putin here. Just that he’s evil enough without actually taking things out of context to twist what actually happened into some clickbait headline.

Look, the majority of the software is on the server end. Even if they gave you a full stack trace, and you understood it, you wouldn’t be able to do anything about it.
