Ah, I see. That’s definitely not my experience; snacks take like 10+ minutes and are usually the reason if I’m late to the show.

Welcome to Debian! Listen to @treadful@lemmy.zip, that’s the easy advice.
Has arriving at the specified showtime not worked out for you? Usually that’s enough time for me to get there, use the washroom, get snacks, and sit down before the movie actually starts. But I don’t go to the theatre often or usually see movies when they first come out.
My parents (who are nearly 70-year-old computer users, by the way, and threw away their 2010 Apple laptop in 2015 because it essentially stopped functioning) absolutely don’t have the technical knowledge to do something like this. I think you may be vastly overestimating the average user.
Vaguely? I went to look and (since I don’t spend time in racist circles) comment #14 made my mouth actually open in surprise. It’s not vague at all.
Cool, now I have to find something else to sync my Obsidian vault to my phone. It just worked! Fuck. =____=
Without noticing or without caring? These thugs went to their victims’ job interviews with them and forced them to work over 70 hours per week.
Yeah! It lets me focus on content instead of building the actual site so I thought I would suggest it given OP’s use case.
Also the CSS can be modified with a separate file that overrides the default, so it’s pretty customizable without touching the actual config files at all.
Have you considered a wiki instead? I use OtterWiki and I like it a lot. It has version control using Git too.
There are several dozen different wiki softwares out there, you can compare their features using this site.
Can you explain your opinion of the differences? A friend and I are interested in learning more about Discord alternatives that we can get our less tech-savvy friends to switch to.
Yeah, for some reason I find this hard to read. I think it might be the lack of contrast between the fonts? Could be fixable by adjusting the weight instead of totally changing the font, though. (I would change the handwritten-looking one just because I find it kind of ugly.)
They’re okay, but they mostly taste like Vanilla Coke with a faint whisper of artificial chocolate flavour (think Tootsie Rolls). I really don’t recommend it unless you want to try a novelty flavour for fun.
Hawaii isn’t its own country, it’s a US state (and not a territory like Puerto Rico, for example), so it’s been integrated into the American empire and independence isn’t likely. I don’t know if it could survive as an independent nation or if residents want to try though.
Hmm, I’ve heard that sensory overload can be physically painful for same people. Might be that, but I’m no doctor.
Are you autistic? Sometimes autistic people respond to stimuli differently than others and find it hard to articulate - maybe what you think of as pain is actually just a very intense response to this specific type of audio at a time when your body is at rest.
I’m not totally sure of the wisdom involved in gating content when ActivityPub and the Fediverse are still so new and niche.
If you’re putting out premium content that doesn’t affect the existing communities, whatever, I don’t care. But I do have to wonder how you’re actually going to make money when most users are used to free content.
Wouldn’t it be easier to use Ko-fi or similar?
You can install Synaptic in Debian. Problem solved? I love the terminal so this isn’t really my fight but you could spend some time to make Debian GUI-based if you wanted to.
Also LMDE exists, which Mint-ifies Debian and gives you a GUI option for basically everything you can imagine.
Try to avoid making an account on one of the main instances (fedia.io, kbin.earth, etc.). List of Mbin instances: ~~https://fedidb.org/software/mbin~~ https://joinmbin.org/servers
My wife and I really like Agricola. It’s a farming-based people-placing game created in Germany for 2-4 players (with the base game), but there is an expansion for 5-6 players. We do play with a decent amount of house rules, though.
Well, I don’t use a DE so your scenario of the new display not switching over right away is basically my life every time autorandr
decides not to run on startup.
Every time I see the Fedora logo I think of DisplayFusion instead. Windows poisoned my brain. :(
