You can literally go to New York, eat a rye and pastrami, get your framework 13 pro, fly back and still be somewhat ahead

“President of Signal getting paid less than a principal engineer” must be the take here.
The same argument applies to Wikipedia: it’s a blessing these people accept working for <1M. They could easily get a job for triple the salary elsewhere but choose to forfeit it for principles.
I run a iRobot i3 and cutting its internet connection renders it useless. I’m eyeing a dreame l40 ultra for valetudo

Not only that, but when she wanted those photos to be taken down, US courts ruled that she has no right.
Truly the best democracy in the world.
Ah I see, that’s a long dreamed feature of mine. To be honest, I haven’t seen that feature work reliably in apps that do have it (eg otterrss)
Why do you feel uncomfortable with NNW?
I’ve considered this but only 1 Ethernet port requires a switch, so I’m not really sure

Can you elaborate on why?
I’m also postponing upgrading my rpi4 os to 64bit one, although it’d unblock a lot of my small projects since many docker containers don’t support the 32bit os anymore. I’m just very lazy.

Looks like old school counter strike 1.5!

This looks intriguing! How does it compare to Minecraft?

Can you put a tl;dw here? Are they scams?

I haven’t used them but umbrel looks promising: https://umbrel.com/
I’m using a synology and as others have said, it’s pretty friendly to non-techies, with lots of point and click configurations

This is my understanding and I’m surprised with the negative reaction. I think jellyfin is the better alternative being FOSS but this is not the reason.

I’ve never used jellyfin, but do they also host proxy servers? AFAIK plex does and its costing them money, hence the need for paywalling this. You can still use tailscale and reverse proxy to allow remote streaming

They’re selling those as courses, they make good money on those too.

In the end, the whole point of Gatekeeper is to protect end users as much as reasonable, and continuing to make it easy to bypass isn’t a good thing in my view.
Whole point of Gatekeeper is Apple policing users’ devices. The security benefit is just a side effect. If anything, users need to be protected from Apple more than small time hackers.
This is a shame. Big tech brain is affecting developers everywhere.
Controversial opinion: best way to learn fire will burn you is to try and see. I personally learned a lot about computers by infecting my machine with a shitton of malware when I was a kid. Modern parents are very adamant on letting kids run free and learn stuff by themselves, why not apply the same logic to computers?
Try an alternative fronted like redlib.catsarch.com for when you really need to view the page. Unfortunately, there is still too much valuable info there, which is surfaced by search engines
