Depends on the wheelchair. The manual spinny with your arms ones, sure. They should be on the sidewalk. But there’s plenty of options that have no problem moving at a pace that makes way more sense on a bike path than on a sidewalk and this is plenty safe.
It’s always funny to see people die a little bit on the inside when you point out that the overwhelming majority of the energy their car consumes is spent on moving it around, rather than them.
I get that that grabbing a bicycle just isn’t an option for a lot of distances but if everybody just moved to a motorcycle or legitimately small car in the cases whey they just move themselves around, this would already solve a non trivial amount of problems we currently have in terms of resource usage and traffic density.
There aren’t any basic traffic rules that apply in the absence of signage where you are at?
Where I live people know what to do on an entirely unmarked road and/or intersection just by what they are driving/riding on.
Most of these rules just boil down to not being an absolutele prick by the way. Doing 40 on a bike lane unless stopped by a sign, and not, say, situational reality (like seeing a crossing coming), would be exactly that.
Stop using platforms that are actively locking you out. The reason they keep doing this is because people keep complying.
Got into linux on the server side before I seriously looked at the desktop side. Run a mix of Ubuntu, Debian and what used to be CentOS but is now Almalinux in this space.
On the desktop started fiddeling with Ubuntu at first, but first distro I actually used was Mint. Tested a lot of them over the year, can’t bothered to list them.
Mainly just use Fedora (KDE).
When words like “woke” “DEI” or any of the other ones adjacent to them are use to express displeasure of any kind I immediately lose interest in what they have to say.

Everybody did think becoming a developer is where it was at, so a lot of people did, now these people looking at an ever tightening job market (even before AI) with LLM’s possibility annihilating the need for their expertise entirely at some point.

There are no “AI safe” jobs. Even if it can’t do your job (yet) all the people that are made redundant and need new work will be flooding remaining markets.

I agree but I can also accept that I’m not necessarily capable of understanding a reason why. Something not making sense to me personally doesn’t inherently mean it doesn’t make sense objectively.
Rulemakers not being able to explain something in a way you do understand is not a you a problem though. That just implies the rulemakers also don’t understand.
The way to vote with your wallet on this is to not go to the restaurant, not to still go and then be an asshole to the underpaid staff.
To be fair, a lot of this probably isn’t even intentional. Tipping just isn’t nearly as much of a thing in Europe and people just forget. And also these people being tourists are usually not people with access to a kitchen to cook their own shit in, so unless you wanna cook instant noodles in your hotel room kettle you’re kind of bound to places that serve you food.
You can blame the europeans here for not knowing or even intentionally not conforming, but tipping being a heavily debated difference between US and EU catering culture is really old news and all these pub owners also could’ve just factored the tip into the price they already inflated for this event anyway. You can’t blame people for thinking their 15 dollar beer includes the service.
So it still just circles back around to stingy employers if you ask me.
Sometimes I look back at videos of previous presidents, and just looking at like a sense of basic humanity and litteracy I get really homesick to times that have long since passed. And I don’t even live on that continent. Can’t imagine what it’s like to actually be in that cesspool.

Open source software comes as-is and without warranty but that doesn’t mean you can’t criticize what people are doing in this space… In fact i’d argue it is integral to it.

You can function in today’s society just fine, it’s just less convenient.
But the problem here is not only that you need a smartphone to begin with, but also one specifically from either Google or Apple. Having something else (like a phone with Sailfish or GrapheneOS or any other custom rom) also doesn’t work.

I do weekly groceries on an unassisted cargo bike and this really just isn’t a real problem. The stopping an starting.
