Is… is that real? Is this really the world I live in?
It’s a very big “if,” though. Europe has a lot of work to do.
But with the United States falling to fascism and despotism, there’s no one else to step up. And I doubt Europe has any illusions about the size of the threat Russia poses, so they have every incentive to halt Russia’s expansionist goals there in Ukraine.
Putin once said Russia’s borders don’t end anywhere, a very telling sentiment: He doesn’t believe anything but Russia should get to exist. A country that doesn’t respect its own borders is a threat to all of its neighbors.
And because of its expansionist goals, its neighbors are the entire world.
So… Europe is going to massively step up support for Ukraine. It’s possible that unlike the United States, Europe will have no reservations about giving Ukraine everything it needs to not only hold Russia back, but to outright win.
An unambiguous win for Ukraine would almost certainly culminate in the death of Vladimir Putin and a full, systemic collapse in Russia. At this point, Russia is all in on destroying and taking over Ukraine, and if it can’t, it’s basically got nothing else to fall back on.
First job ever: Highschool work program. I slung coffee in a Costco.
First job in a field related to what I wanted to do: Needed any job I could get, applied a bunch of places, got hired by one basically sight unseen because they were desperate for anyone they could get and practically pulling people in off the streets.
First job specifically doing what I wanted to do: Used experience moonlighting and doing stuff somewhat related to get a full-time job doing the actual thing I loved.
Current job: With experience under my belt and a better resume, I applied at a better company (that paid well), and got the job. Planning to stay with this company until I can retire, if possible.
Twice. They did it twice.
Move to another country. That’s been my specific goal since November 6th.
Well sure. Trump literally does not care about the truth value of any word-like sounds that squirt from his facial sphincter. The algorithm running through his toupee support system works like this:
That’s it. Whether it has any relationship to the truth, good or bad, never enters into it. He’s not even as honest as a liar, because a liar has to at least care what the truth is. He truly, genuinely doesn’t.
Family of four. We probably go through 10 to-12 eggs a day much of the time. Scrambled eggs, French toast, homemade bread, cookies, pancakes, frittatas, huevos rancheros tacos… It adds up. I recently started buying the 18-egg packs because it’s more cost-effective.
The stupid fucking idiots in the maga party will blame Biden.
You inspired me. I added a few more entries.
Trump’s plan for the next four years:
Do you think Israel should be destroyed?
Edit: Interesting. No one is willing to say “no.”
Here’s the thing: What Joe Biden tried (and yes, failed, because Netanyahu is a corrupt madman) to do was simultaneously support Israel’s right to exist and defend itself, and do what he could to minimize damage to Gaza.
Now we have a “president” who will gleefully help Netanyahu destroy Gaza entirely and take over the land. You’ve gone from someone whose friendship to Palestine was tepid to someone who actively wants it destroyed.
This isn’t an upgrade.
That’s not an answer, and I’m not “carrying water for genocide financiers.” I never once excused or denied Israel’s behavior. Netanyahu responded to a horrendous terrorist attack by turning the dials on “horrendous” and “terror” up to 11. He’s a monster and a war criminal and should spend the rest of his life in prison.
Now then, how would you do it? Put yourself in the president’s shoes. You need to come up with a solution that allows Israel to continue to exist and not be destroyed by, say, Iran… AND allows the Palestinians to survive. Cut off all weapons, goodbye Israel. Give Israel a blank check, goodbye Palestine. What do you try to do?
Lying about Biden trying “nothing” doesn’t make it OK that you carried water for Trump.
No it fucking isn’t, what with Israel set to receive 2,000 pound bombs that can level a city block.
It’s a much, much more complicated situation than you’re presenting. Biden was trying to thread the needle between “deny Israel weaponry” (end result: Opportunistic invasion by Israel’s neighbors) and “give Netanyahu all the weapons he wants” (end result: what we’re about to see with these gigantic, city-block-destroying bombs).
How would you do it?
This article is literally about one of Biden’s efforts to rein in the violence. He did try. Now go ahead and excuse Trump freeing up 2,000-pound bombs for Israel, and how that’s better for Palestine than it would be if Harris had won. Good luck.
I can’t find the will to make a leopards/faces joke about this. This is exactly what we told people who wouldn’t vote for Harris because of “gEnOcIdE jOe” bullshit.
Biden made real efforts to prevent the Israeli government from committing genocide. They failed, but they tried. Now we’ve got an absolute monster in charge who is going to outright empower the genocide.
If you voted for Trump, voted for a third party, or refused to vote… FUCK YOU. You own this.
Considering how well Ukraine treats its prisoners of war (as opposed to how well Russia and North Korea treat their soldiers), this may very well be the best thing that’s ever happened to them.
It actually started the day after the election. People are actively searching for ways to escape this shit-hole country.
I know I am.
