I didn’t see it, I just read several articles where I’ve heard him speak about the importance of imagination and wonder and I fully agree with all of it and putting the same schlock out year after fucking year is not imagination or wonder
trans xennial musician
I love synthesizers, all sorts of music (mostly electronic), b/cult movies, science fiction, DIY, graphics design, PC hardware, retro computing (Commodore <3), cooking, singing. I’m truly sorry to anyone I have unintentionally hurt in my confusion about my identity. Love and light. Sorry I can’t talk like a normal human being btw, I’m trying.
Here’s some of my music, grateful if you’d give it a listen: https://etherphon.bandcamp.com/

The stuff up there right now is a tad old, but it is some music that deals with my struggles with my realizations about my sexuality and gender, thus some of it is a little difficult and discordant. I’m working on some more joyous music. It’s 100% hardware based (synthesizers, samplers, sequencers, effects), no computer, DAW or AI involved in recording.

Please just listen to Christopher Nolan and Stephen Spielberg they know what they’re talking about I assure you, they made some pretty decent movies I hear
Caddyshack 2, they lost all the people that made the first one good, though I’m not convinced it needed a sequel
Uh I hope Spaceballs 2 is good

oh that’s just Bultwinkle the Moose

Yeah, I just took it the wrong way as usual lol, I just thought in regards to the question at hand it was a bigger attitude shift from 86-06 than 06-26 but I guess it all depends on where you are talking about and all that

I’ll go back and tell that to all the rural and suburban kids who were scared to come out in my high school in the 90s. In the cities sure that might be true, but out here not so much, you are right that the movement started much earlier though but we didn’t feel the changes here. I really don’t know what to say about it being cool or whatever, it was definitely never cool here so

1986 to 2006 is a massive leap as far as LGBTQIA+ rights an even as far as recognizing some of those letters as actual things not to mention the whole spectrum, awareness, representation, those things have largely improved. I know it’s a bit hard to reckon with now we seem to be on a backslide but trust we’ll make it

he clearly hasn’t met me, I’m very confident I can do almost anything I can put my mind to, just so long as no one is watching and I don’t benefit from it :P I turn into a royal klutz under supervision
It’s been a common sentiment for centuries, and I know this time it seems especially dire, but in the grand scheme of everything it’s all just a blip anyways. Just enjoy whatever you can and make differences where you can is about all you can do. We need to build something worth fixing if we want to do anything
As an old school techno fan I dunno about this meme, I’m not a fan of all the build ups and drops in modern electronic music, just give me the same dancable BPM the whole time, I dunno how people can get lost in a groove that only lasts 30 seconds before another change up

Right? I’ve been a huge fan of Justin Theroux since and honestly he hasn’t let me down, you’re right though the whole cast is just impeccable

there has never been a worse time for this
jokes aside, good luck

Ah there it is :) I was scrolling down to mention it if no one did, fantastic show one of my all time favs. The scene where he’s singing Simon and Garfunkel in the other place makes me tear up just thinking about it
is this some kind of american fever dream or nightmare? no one ever does any of that shit in the commercial with their trucks, maybe 0.1%, they are selling a fantasy to men who have nothing else. Anyways this commercial also nicely sums up all I dislike about this country

Yeah that’s weird, the comedy in ‘The Sure Thing’ is far more dated than either of those movies, and those are far better

Oh I love that movie, I think we rented it like 50 times when I was a kid

I mean it gets the basics right, it’s certainly much better than GO, the other American rave movie, in that regard lol. I also grew up in the boonies but was luckily close enough to a larger city with a great local rave scene in the 90s to early 2k. Maybe it’s not quite bad enough to fit in this one after all, perhaps I should have said GO haha
that’s unfortunate, can’t win em all I guess. The general principle still stands though, I mean he made a bad movie, he still has a good viewpoint on movie making and what makes a good movie
