If I understand correctly, nextcloud automatically updated … which I didn’t think it would, normally. Maybe it’s a “feature” of the AIO docker image?

Never upgrade to the latest and greatest of … anything really, especially in production. Let others test it first, or as suggested already, have a staging environment where you test the upgrade first. I guess you can still downgrade nextcloud though, especially if you have a backup.
Are you using the AIO image? I don’t know how well that works, but yeah, I absolutely hate automatic updates like that. I tried it once and I decided to use the plain “official but not supported” docker image instead, where I manage things myself. Never had an issue, and I can control which version I’m running, I can backup to wherever I want, using whichever system I want, etc.
Does a bike helmet count?
If I have to guess, because nobody but a racist party like the league would do such a thing, so it’s a pretty important detail. Then again, I agree it should specify “emphasis mine” or something…
And never mind that noise you heard
There are parts of the world where it is a function of age, or at least of the number of years you’ve been working, because the government will pay you a pension after you worked and paid taxes this many years.
Thank you for being a voice of reason among all the noise.
I have used Manjaro at work and on personal devices for maybe 10 years and it has served me well. When I got a new computer this year, I saw many recommending EndeavourOS instead, so I decided to use that instead. I don’t understand the controversy to be honest … endeavour is a-ok, but Manjaro was more stable imho, and if I have to do it again I might go back to Manjaro.
Well, if he drops out of the race he will not be able to continue supporting genocide in 2025, of course… that will be instead continued by his successor, whoever they might be.
If you want people to take you seriously about being open source, you need to have a git repo, like github, gitlab, etc. you can even self host one. Heck, you can even use a different (non git) DVCS, but not just a link to a cloud drive…
While that’s true, short term (vacation) rentals existed well before airbnb, they just weren’t so prevalent.
That’s possible, I’m using Firefox, is that something firefox would do?
The site does use https for me… it instantly redirects from http to https
From the article:
Herinckx said his focus is on consumer goods not covered by sanctions. Reuters found no evidence that his firm was violating sanctions.
His business might be of dubious morality but it might not be illegal, so I’m not sure the government can do much.
While she is of Jewish ancestry, she is not religiously observant.
and then
While welcoming the dialogue with Sheinbaum, members of the Jewish community do not consider her to be part of their ranks, in part because Sheinbaum herself has rejected any such connection. “Claudia has actively tried to say: ‘This is not me,” Schlosser said. “It must be respected when a person does not want to be identified in one way or another.”
… and more of that.
Seems like this article is more preoccupied with her religion, which she clearly states is not a big part of who she is, rather than her policies, which I’d be more interested in hearing about.
TL;DR: Your usual sensationalized headline.
My point is, since its meaning depends on the context, I don’t see the issue for it to mean, in the context of containers, “outside of a container”. Just like in the case of VMs, or OS vs No OS, it means there’s one fewer layer between the app and the hardware, whether that’s a VM, Container runtime, or the OS.
I’m pretty sure everybody, including you, understood its meaning in this context, it didn’t really cause any misunderstanding.
That’s only the meaning you’re used to, and that’s my point. It depends on the context. I can assure you that, in the context of microcontrollers, for example, “bare metal” means running without an OS.
Me too, I had money. Then, Trump imposed tariffs on China which made my stock take a dive, and the company I used to work for suffered, meaning fewer raises or bonuses. Not saying tariffs were 100% a bad idea, China was, and is still, stealing our tech (observed first hand while at that job), but that didn’t help with the economy.
Then we had covid, which didn’t help, and Trump definitely mismanaged that. Biden then took over and … also mismanaged, but the opposite way, causing inflation. Thankfully, they brought it back under control, where we are now.
Now I have a new job and more money is flowing. And honestly, most of this is neither president’s fault or merit, really, they just like to point fingers and take credits for stuff they didn’t do.
