Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•I wonder if it would be feasible to crowd source mortgages.
4·23 days agoWhen people describe what they hate about communism and socialism, they often describe capitalism.
A lot of people would be in favour of communism or socialism, they just don’t know it, due to propaganda against it.
A great example for this are insurances. If you’re not from the US, you pay a small amount of money or portion of your income and never have to worry about medical expenses again.
This concept can be applied to virtually anything! Food, water, shelter, you name it!

What about people reading this a month from now? If you made made more posts it would be impossible for them to know which one “the last post” is.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Other than money, what's something you would want an unlimited amount of?

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•For-profit healthcare systems are designed to extract every last pfennig from a person's estate before they die.
3·1 month agoWhere does the money come from that makes everyone richer?
You can only have more if somebody else has less (money concentration)

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•For-profit healthcare systems are designed to extract every last pfennig from a person's estate before they die.
9·1 month agoYou’re comparing best case capitalism with worst case communism.
When communists concentrate wealth, they are corrupt, the system is not working as intended.
When capitalists concentrate wealth, the system is working as intended.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•For-profit healthcare systems are designed to extract every last pfennig from a person's estate before they die.
121·1 month agoExactly. Capitalism is used to extract as much money as possible and concentrate it on the 1 %
This is difficult to translate so I’m going to post it in it’s original language (German).

Not everybody on .ml is a tankie. I joined waaay before the reddit API thing and back then .ml was like one of three available instances.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What’s a conspiracy theory you no longer call a theory?
1·2 months agoOkay, obviously there is no proof but I watch a lot of TV shows with eye witnesses claiming they saw strange lights come out of the water and flying objects moving really fast and stuff like that
The fact that so many different people claim the same thing mean to me that they must be right. Why would all of these people around the world be lying?

Its not about hiding information, its more about protecting information.
If privacy doesnt matter, why do you close the door to your house/flat? Why are there locks? Because you are a criminal?

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Germany's Merz calls for real names on the internet
36·3 months agoAs soon as any politician critisises this idea, tell them there is nothing to worry about if you have nothing to hide.

That sounds like something Microsoft would do. They love inconsistencies.
They probably have a whole team of people ensuring that nothing is consistent.
