And look, I get it’s a hot button issue for a lot of people. I’m not suggesting anyone is wrong for whatever side they choose. It’s too complex of an issue for my pea-brain to fully understand. What I do understand is that the US and other countries need to be working toward helping both sides find a reasonable and peaceful solution — whatever that may be (I’ll leave that to the smarter people to figure out).

FWIW, I’m referring to the local DNS (domain name system) resolver; the mechanism that resolves local domain names into IP addresses so that computers can talk to each other over the LAN.

The idea of using a tablet as a computer is not exactly a selling point for me. What id love to see is an app market space for tablets like this. Something that competes with Apple and Google; especially if it had a focus on home automation and security. Gaming would be a close second.

It was meant to be a replacement for the now completely defunct app called Our Home. It was a chore management app that allowed us to attach points to completed chores (mostly for the kids).

I started a community with the intention of posting a lot. It was meant to be geared toward an app I was going to build to help me and my family be more organized. Then life happened, and the need for the app waned, and. Now I guess I’m “squatting” on the community.

It’s not something I generally think about very often. I guess if someone wanted the community for whatever reason, I’d hand it over. The genuinely weird thing is, I have a multitude of people who subscribed; like 17 (not including myself).

I use the main feed as a way to broaden my horizons. Of course I block communities and use filters extensively as necessary. So it’s not too bad once it’s dialed in.

I’m waiting for Linux support to come to iPads. I have an older iPad I would love to see Linux on.

I used my 2010 MacBook Pro for about 10 years before I decided to buy a new one (no longer supported by Apple). It ran great too, for being 10 years old.

At least Mac is genuinely UNIX. 🙃

There’s the paradox. Your argument itself is drawing a line that excludes mine. So what do we do? Well, like you said, we be democratic about it. Get out and vote for the people and policies that best aligns with our values. We have civil discussions like this that challenges each other to think of the other side. Maybe we get upset once in a while. Maybe we change our minds (maybe we don’t). It’s not perfect, but it’s better than nothing.
