Updated it right before I built Wine.

Using the Steam release of Fallout 3 goty. Created a clean wine prefix, configured it for Windows 7. Installed .Net 3.5 sp1 and Visual C++ runtimes for 2008 and 2010 just in case. Installed latest DXVK with winetricks. Modified the system.reg with regedit to add key and string for the installed path.

After that I was able to run the Launcher, set it to windowed and launch it.

Have spent about 5 hours so far on current play through. Has crashed a couple of times.

Already downloaded and built it on Slackware.

Was able to get Fallout 3 running on it without mods or community patches. Working fairly well, as long as its run windowed fullscreen I can tab out and back without it crashing.

The subscription without Copilot only leaves off the extra charge for their Copilot subscription. It does not change their data harvesting tools being built into their applications.

Microsoft makes it very difficult with a constantly moving target to block the Copilot integrations from being installed and collecting your data. They are now pushing for people to use their personal subscriptions on business systems to bypass IT restrictions.

Normal setup for IPv6 is to use public IPs everywhere, and use the firewall to block traffic to your internal systems.

This article has instructions for configuring NAT6 outbound in OPNSense. It makes the IPv6 work similar to IPv4. Local DHCP routed through single external IPv6 address.

Microsoft Terminal supports tabs and custom profiles. It can host Azure CLI, PowerShell, CMD.exe, and Bash.
Windows ships with openssh that is usable in any of the supported cli.

I use it all the time for work to ssh into systems.

Yeah, in 2025 doing encrypted email is a painful process. Every option is a hack on top of a 43 year old protocol.

Here is a howto from Mozilla on pgp with Thunderbird. It isn’t a pleasant process.

Communication between the email servers is normally encrypted with TLS. The email files themselves are rarely encrypted. Most providers that do encryption of email are using local server managed encryption, so the email providers would still be able to access it.

For proper end to end protection you would want to setup PGP between you and your recipients, and encrypt the email before its sent.
