The US has been saying this about Iran for at least twenty years despite Iran being a part of the UN’s watchdog agency, the International Atomic Energy Agency. The IAEA provides regular oversight of nuclear programs to ensure they are for peaceful programs. Iran has been working with nuclear material conducive with nuclear power generation, not the kind needed for nuclear missiles, and yet the US always waves the bogeyman argument.

For these ghouls, it is a bit reductive but it works as a general rule: manufacture and foment instability for oil. It is always oil with these freaks.

You still have to have the money to move, be healthy enough to be accepted by the new country, etc. For many many people there is no choice. None. Often those that need it most.

Just because people did it, didn’t make it acceptable then nor now. Just because a person murders another person and it happened, doesn’t make it acceptable. There is a bend to history written by the powerful that history absolves because “what was acceptable was different at the time.” This line of thinking is flawed, ethics existed then too. Things like slavery and racism were just as wrong during times of codified ‘legal’ chattel slavery as it is today. It silences those enslaved and the many many people who decried its existence.

Same applies here.
