they used to be unique but now almost all theaters (at least around me) have a comparable (or better) experience with reserved seats, roomy reclining seats, better food, etc. I think the only thing Alamo really has going for it now is its strict policy of no kids and no talking.

It’s not an issue of intelligence or what people are entertained by, it’s an issue of what attracts people to a theater and pay lots of money before the film comes to streaming. Not everyone cares for or can afford a regular theater experience anymore, particularly for lower key films.
I think it’s cable with fewer steps, but of course not as convenient as it used to be.
and on top of that inflation everywhere else is causing people to have less discretionary funds.

There’s a tendency to consider something uncreative because it is done by AI and according to that logic AI cannot possibly be creative, but I try to judge AI creations by the same standards I would have used if they were human creations before AI existed.
by the same token you can’t consider something creative just because it is done by an artist. To me de-aging leans much closer to “menial labor” than actual creativity. It clearly requires skill, but very little imagination.
I don’t think we know that AI will be good at creative work yet. De-aging old actors isn’t exactly “creative”.
I haven’t seen the movie, but it could have been cool for Colin Hanks to play younger Tom.
