5·9 months agoDepends how paranoid you want to be, what if there’s an exploit that allows the bypass of the USB connection mode?

4·9 months agoOn my Pixel if I plug into a usb data connection it defaults to charge and gives me a notification that lets me switch USB mode. Think this flow has been standard for a while, also seen it on Samsung devices.
Might be there’s some other option under developer options.
Use a systemd timer to send yourself a reminder. Discoverd them recently myself and honestly liking them more than cron.

Probably basically commercial displays but I wonder if it’s possible to buy TVs aimed for guest rooms in hotels?
Don’t modern versions of rm block calling on / unless you pass a separate flag?
Would be a nice thing to have in the spec for the cable, as those ones aren’t compliant with the spec, and can in some cases cause problems, like on disconnect it might be possible for one of the PD pins to short against one of the data pins before the side delivering power has had time to process the disconnect.
It’s a pretty specific edge case and I’m sure not a problem most people have had or will run into, but would be nice if it could be part of the spec.

This page explains it, basically you don’t go to prison itself, but you have certain requirements/conditions (stuff like community work) and if you break the terms you might then get sent to actual prison.
Absolutely shocking.
