I’m in Aus, and I basically never eat a proper home cooked meal. I can get a hotdog for $3.50 and outside of super basic food like just rice, or oats, I can’t match that.
We don’t need to talk about how much I waste on drinks though, thats an entirely different problem.
Yeah I’ve had a burger from a place that roughly fit this description, I was really sad when they closed because it was by an extreme margin the best burger I’ve ever had in my life.
Life is significantly worse without that burger.
Adaptive Cruise is my 2nd favourite tech in cars, only beaten by reversing cameras.
Some dickhead doing 70 in a 100 zone? That’s my cars problem, not mine, it’ll deal with it for me.
I had Windows 10 do it once over however many years i was using it (was a fairly early adopter), and Windows 11 has never done it.
Anyone who can easily use Linux can just make Windows not do that kind of shit, and not auto-update, and block the connection from basically all Windows processes.
OK that’s not as useful as what I use then, because I typically just limit the speed, and blocking is only there for stuff that I don’t want to even try.
Interesting thta you can use Windows firewall to stop windows updates though
It can’t, that’s the point. Blocking data access for programs that like to aggressively and automatically download/upload shit was my entire goal and it required a fairly low amount of effort.
I’ve not seen a way windows can regulate and block individual processes, although I got the program from Windows 10 and never bothered looking in 11.
My internet is trash so I use a program to regulate what can use internet and at what speeds. Turns out windows updates don’t happen when they can’t access the internet, big success.
I went to change privacy settings on my old yahoo email account and the tab started taking up 24GB of ram. Some sites are just mega fucked.
It’s probably easier to replace Amazon than YouTube. Free streaming services don’t make money, YouTube loses money, Twitch loses money, Kick loses money, the Microsoft one before it died was losing money. If it’s free to watch it loses money, and these are companies that do a ton of work to try and make it not lose money, and it just doesn’t work.
Reddit fucked it a lot harder than Windows has though, Windows might do annoying stuff but it does work and I don’t need like, a Windows is fun app to make it do what I want it to. Mostly.
I believe tried to, not entirely sure it was successful, given its banning math.
