Some adults might even say what you said about society in general - infinite resources to harm and burden, etc. People usually try their best, your teachers too. I’ve seen this sentiment being repeated in the replies, yet this also applies to private companies that are run by absolutely powerful people. It’s true that Lord Acton wrote this about the monarchy, but some execs in multinational corporations today are just as powerful as old-timey monarchs.

Private companies are also run by people. “The market” is also affected by people making imperfect decisions all the time, waiting for it to self regulate is…well, I mean, aren’t we still waiting?

Nah, this is objectively incorrect. We all know 2021 was the start of paying more for less. 2021 fashion was crop top, crop jeans, crop everything, even our crisp packets had less crisps in it. Over it all, you wore a jacket that used to be your Dad’s blazer that he used to wear for work (the super boxy one).

Before we get there, it is wise to re-examine what we lose when everything is commodified. You might not mean to sound anti-woman, but you do sound anti-woman, anti-personhood even, because what you’re saying is that a person’s body (regardless of gender and sex) and likeness can be commodified without the person’s consent, or even knowledge that it is happening. You might be interested in reading Michael J. Sandel’s “What Money Can’t Buy” and examine your fantasy from an economic-political point of view.
