Lol take your own advice ciao
You’re telling people to do nothing and there’s no point in doing anything until some imaginary worthwhile battle…
And yeah I am disheartened, of course I am, this is a terrible situation to be in. I’m arguing that we still have to fight. Everyone who understands what is going on and cares has to fight with the blitz spirit - when your enemy is much more powerful and on paper is going to kick your ass 100% certain and is bombing the crap out of you every day but the stakes are so high you fight anyway and fight harder.
This is why noone should EVER trust people like this. Tech billionaires are not to be trusted. Billionaires are not to be trusted. Corporations are not to be trusted.
I get that you’re disheartened but pick yourself up.
Do you know that the vast majority of people lived in absolute poverty, working every working hour for not enough money to eat?
That’s really wage slaving, when you’re too poor to have a home or even to rent a bed and you sleep stood up against a rope to stop you falling on the floor.
Or you can’t make it and you go into a workhouse, separated from your kids and made to work for no money and given gruel to eat.
The way people got out of that hell was to organise, to fight, to keep fighting. That’s how workers won ALL the rights which are normal in the west - minimum wage, no child labour, maternity pay… Every single decent law was fought for.
So don’t tell me we or you have it hard right now, just because things are harder than you’re used to and we’re all scared.
We’ve had it easier all our lives and most of us didn’t want to go out of our comfort zone to fight to make life better. Our chickens are coming home to roost now.
Let’s try to lift each other up instead of demoralising each other.
Agreed its not likely but it’s not possible to give up. I mean, it could and has been worse. We aren’t slaves, our country hasn’t been invaded, we aren’t living in Russia… It could be worse and we can’t give up or it will probably get worse.
They could be organising huge nationwide protests or storming the capitol like he did. They could be telling the truth like AOC and Bernie
I’ve had some good conversations with local TUSC members collecting signatures and so on, I’ve a lot of respect for them but sadly the general public don’t seem to. I think after the kicking by thatcher, unions and socialism in general are out of fashion. I do think there should be a broadly left party, allowing secondary membership maybe. Work on getting agreement on some issues, laser focus on what’s most urgent and get decent people elected. I’d support any party with decent policies and which had the most chance of getting elected.
Is this why the dems are standing aside?
Trump will give them space in Guantanamo bay
Those voters had already been brainwashed by fascists into thinking destitute refugees and asylum seekers were at the root of their problems instead of offshore bank accounts stuffed with their taxes, which should have been used to pay for public services and housing.
Its not only that but how the left has been marginalised, as what happened with the labour party in the UK - Jeremy corbyn, the old leader who was actually left wing has been barred from the party, which he was part of for his whole life. A lifelong anti-racist on the correct side of every issue has been smeared as being a racist and that is now the mainstream ‘truth’.
The only left wing party of any size in the UK now is the green party. The only alternatives to business as usual labour/conservatives (same thing) are the greens (seen mostly as a middle class protest vote) or reform.
Labour are definitely not for the working class anymore.
A lot of people don’t vote as a protest. Most stupid shit I ever heard and I instantly lose respect for anyone that doesn’t at least go spoil their ballot.
The reason for this happening now is that Russia is on the verge of collapse and Putin has turned the screws on trump. If things don’t go his way the pee tape will leak
Travesty incoming
Why would Putin be interested in a real deal when he already is defacto president of the US?
Only if Europe can stand against trump and Russia (and allies) will he not get what he’s bought and paid for. Zelensky knows and I hope he keeps shouting the truth from the rooftops.
Yeah, I heard that. But I think that Ukraine couldn’t actually use the nukes so they were of limited use, like maybe they could have been repurposed or something. But yeah no doubt about it, Ukraine got screwed and now they’re finishing the job. I hope they sell their resources to anyone else, China or North Korea before they let Russia or the US have them.
I think he’d be smart enough to not want to take the risk of destroying so much. Yeah he’s a psychopath but who would gamble with that kind of destruction… I guess if the nuke failed to explode that’s another consideration but I’d assumed even if the air defences worked in any sense, the nuke would still detonate? If that happened in the air, wouldn’t it kill/maim a lot of people and taint land with the radioactivity?
What worries me is that the UK nukes are (I think) unable to be used without US authority so at the moment they’re essentially useless even as a deterrent. I saw Kier Starmer giving that speech recently and yep, we’re in trouble lol, he’s no good at hiding his feelings. I almost feel sorry for him, except that I remember what he did to become the labour leader.
Noone who has nukes can use them, but that’s not the point. Just the threat is enough. One nuke with enough juice to get it to Moscow would be enough. I’m pretty sure if any country ever used a nuke, the whole world would explode.
I think we should give a nuke to Ukraine. One would be enough to stop all this BS.
Crossing my fingers and toes for Germany!
